Active Rain on Facebook, you've been tagged

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Kittitas Valley Realty

I could never get into Myspace, actually I never tried. I did start a Facebook page as a source of networking. I understand that given time FB can become a good networking tool. Yesterday I got a "wall to wall" note from a friend showing some interest in a property I have for sale, there's the proof that it does indeed work.

What I did, and you can do, was to go to my profile, and under "add links" place "http://activerain.com/your active rain name", and you will give your FB friends access to your Active Rain. I feel this is a very good way to bring our real estate business to our friends.

I have also placed the HTML into my front page of my web sites to give web search clients an opportunity to reach my AR info. To add an HTML link to your web site, and I figured this out by myself so if it is not correct please don't yell at me, I'm very sensitive.

1) Locate where you would like the button on your home page.

2) Go to your control panel and on your front page, find the symbols which support the area where you would like to see the button.

3) Look for the HTML or <> symbol and click on it.

4) Copy and paste the HTML code from your Active Rain profile page "Add Links" into the area you want the button to appear on your home page.

5) Save changes and view home page to see if it is there.

And to my FB friend's, please don't tag me with one of those "you've been tagged" 25 questions about myself tags. I was so ashamed of myself for actually attempting to do one of those. I got as far as number 2) I love milk chocolate and white chocolate, but hate dark chocolate, then quickly left my FB page and went for a walk, for crying out load.

Hope this helps someone,

As a recent addition to the FB world I was struggling with how to keep the personal and professional seperate.  I understand it's important for people to be able to find me, I just wasn't as convinced they need to see photos from gradeschool dances (my mother warned me I'd look back at that hair style in horror!).  FB does allow a person to create a business page that is open for the world to see while still keeping your personal stuff private.  It's a great way to get additional web exposure.
