Are you using FaceBook Correctly 'Part 2'

By

Since my last post Facebook, I have received many positive feedback on how to maximize this fun social media site. Although I am a generation Yer, I am still exploring daily on how to keep up with the latest feature and new things on the internet as well as Facebook, I will just share some more tips as I go along and hopefully that can help you as well in connecting with others in the cyber space.

The whole idea of using Facebook is to connect with old friends, co-workers, past or current clients, sometimes maybe ex-(girl or boy)friends, or whomever you may be interested in getting to know. Therefore, it is important to be PROACTIVE in opening communication with those who you wish to connect with. Adding them to be your friends are great, but if you are not going to start a dialogue, you might as well not having them as your friend on Facebook! This is the same theory of a 'lead', if you are not going to FOLLOW UP, then that lead is useless.

Here are few ways to start a dialogue on Facebook.

When you sign onto Facebook, the landing default page is the HOME PAGE where it provides all the News Feed of your friends activity in the last 12 hours or more. Everytime your friends post a new status about themselves, new photos, or news link, you will be notified and this is a summarized page.

Noticed that there is an option 'COMMENT' for you to put in your 2 cents. If your friend post something fun and you enjoy it, why not let them know and comment something back? Facebook made it real easy for you to communicate with each other, why not take advantage of it. But remember, if you have nothing nice to say, then why don't you keep it to yourself? :-)

Here are some news feed stated that my friends have recently changed their profile photo. Hey, if you thought they look cute or handsome in their new photos, why not let them know?

Status Updates tablet, it summarize all your friends newest status, you may want to check it out and see if you want to comment on what they are up to.

There are many other ways to interact with friends on Facebook, it is good to understand how Facebook works so you can use this social media to its full extend. But the key is to connect with people, open up dialects, and go that extra mile and comment on your friends' life/profile so they will be interest in yours. Reciprocity is the key!

ENJOY THE FACEBOOK PROCESS!

Here is my part 1 Facebook tips !

Facebook to me is is strictly for my social networking and meeting up with old friends I haven't seen in years. I don't expect anyone to find my business there and I've posted a few items but I really use it for fun....if there is business from it then great but it's not my overall goal there.

I'd like to do it subtly b/c I'd prefer to keep FB as a social medium more than pushing too hard, but I have been contacted a few times about r.e. questions & referrals - which I like it came from them naturally.  There's so few areas of my life where I'm not thinking about business - so FB has been something I'm trying to preserve to a certain degree.

Eilee, thank you very much for your input, it does help to use facebook the "proper" way, I mean using all the tools available, I have learned a lot from your post, I appreciate it a lot. The same thing happens here in AR. If you read, but do not comment, you probably are missing the second part of the conversation.

I am finding FB a great way to keep up with the teens in our church - they keep adding me as  a friend so they don't mind my being aware of their activities.

When they post something I question - they know we will have a chat.

I think it can be a good tool for connecting to other business people.  I don't care to engage in some of the offers I have been getting, so, I just let those folks know that I am on there for my business.  Like anything on the internet, it can be time consuming and our business is to be out helping folks buying and selling homes.  I like to offer tips and encouragement to people.

You just have to control it and your time.

It's a Good Life!
