When I was growing up my mother worked for a Hostess for a service called "Welcome Wagon". Back in those days (before privacy laws) she would receive a list of new arrivals to town from the local gas company. Sponsors (local businesses) would give her treats to hand out to these people in hopes of receiving their business.
When I moved to Minot ND I was looking forward to "Welcome Wagon" bring me a Welcome Package. It didn't happen. I checked into the service and found that it's demise here in Minot was the privacy laws and the local owners lack of desire to find ways to deal with it. I saw this as a great opportunity and jumped in creating Minot's New Neighbors.
Just to shorten the story let me say that the idea went over well and Minot's New Neighbors is now owned and run by a great couple in town and they are ready to Welcome you to Minot ND.
