St Petersburg is indeed changing. Years ago, when I was growing up, it was considered a real retirement town. The older ladies would gather on the benches outside of Maas Brother's Department Store waiting for the bus. As a teen I avoided the city - there was nothing to do, the homes were older - it just was NOT a happening place.
Well, that has sure changed! I have been showing homes in the Shore Acres of St Petersburg and am just blown away by all of the new construction that has taken place down there during the last few years. St Petersburg has changed so much from the place I avoided during the 60's. There is so much to do down there now and the residential areas are changing to look like the rest of Pinellas County.
Shore Acres used to be full of small homes, about 1100 sq ft built during the 1950's, but not anymore. Those homes are being replaced by larger homes that offer all of the luxeries we have grown to expect in a home.
