This is a true story that just happened this year. I purchased a 3 unit investment property in my hometown. In the Middle of winter one of my builders got to the jobsite and called to tell me someone had broken in. I asked if they had stolen any of the tools? Oddly enough he couldnt find anything that was stolen, even though we had about $4000 in tools left in the house.
Call my contractor stupid, but he forgot to check the kitchen sink. Later in the afternoon he noticed that the faucet was stolen. Then the next day he noticed that the shower head and pipe was torn right out of the wall. Yes, the crackhead destroyed my faucet and ripped my shower head out of the wall so that he could make a crack pipe. The faucet has a screen in it that evidently he did not know how to remove without tearing it all off, and the pipe was needed so he tore off the shower head.
This guy was no MacGuyver, but I do admire his ingenuity. When I thought deeply about it, the police would probably have noticed a homeless man with a table saw and compressor in his shopping cart, hence stealing none of our tools.
I have several other crackhead stories that I will update my blog with in the future, For a great story about a Terrible Buyer and How I turned my Bad deal into $12,000 visit my blog at http://www.TheMillionairesblog.com
