When searching for a home in the Denver suburbs, school boundaries are sometimes a very important qualifier for the search location. While Colorado is an open enrollment state, the opportunity to enroll children at any public school only exists if there is room. Some schools are at or near capacity, and living within the school's geographic boundaries can sometimes be the only or best way to be certain of enrollment. Additionally, if you do not live within the school boundaries, school bus will not be a transportation option for you.

Northridge Elementary is a K - 6 school in Highlands Ranch and part of the Douglas County School District. The calendar for Northridge Elementary has been the Year-Round Track System and this current year (2010 - 2011) is the last year. For the next school year (2011 - 2012), Northridge will move to the "Modified" school calendar and is one of the last elementary schools in Highlands Ranch to end the track schedule. The Modified schedule is very close to a traditional school calendar but the summer is a bit shorter and the fall and spring breaks are a bit longer.

Northridge Elementary is located in the Northridge area of Highlands Ranch and was the first school to open in Highlands Ranch. The boundaries include many homes in the Northridge neighborhoods and also the Highlands Ranch Golf Club community on the north side of Westridge. Kids that attend Northridge Elementary feed to Mountain Ridge Middle School and Mountain Vista High School, both in Highlands Ranch.

Here are all of the homes available for sale in the Northridge Elementary School boundaries. Some of homes in the Highlands Ranch Golf Club community are on the golf course or back to the Highline Canal Trail. Many of the homes in the Northridge area have larger lots, mature landscaping and some have wonderful mountain views. Highlands Ranch CO - Playgrounds and Parks - Spotlight on Northridge Park

Highlands Ranch Colorado has many playgrounds and parks to choose from, which is great at least from my son's perspective.
Today the spotlight is on Northridge Park in Highlands Ranch CO. The Northridge Park is tucked in behind the Northridge Recreation Center south of C-470 and just east of Broadway Blvd. The Park is one of the largest in Highlands Ranch at 33 acres.
The park offers variety of things to do, which is probably why it is favored by many children.



The Highlands Ranch Metro District offers several camps and activities at the Northridge Park including Basketball and currently the Flag football season is underway and some of the games are played there.


 
The park has a wonderful playground with slides, swings and climbing "things". There is also a sand area and an area for the smaller munchkins.
Next to the playground there is a picnic shelter and bathrooms. There are 2 shelters, several barbacue grills and many tables.
The park also has a basketball court, 3 baseball fields and 4 fields for football or soccer.

Two other fun finds at this park.
1. There is a large tree that the kids love to climb located next to the basketball court.
2. One of the best things about this playground is that it is covered by large trees which gives much needed relief from the sun during those hot summer days.
