I once had a seller tell me that he wanted to move away from Coweta County because: “there: is nothing here!” I asked him to explain and he said that there were no beaches or mountains or other geographical or geological features that sets Coweta County apart from anywhere else. It is true that we don’t have the seaside aura of Cape Cod or the ski slopes of Vail. The Coweta County Fair returns to the fairgrounds on September 30, 2010. The annual event is one of the most popular attractions in the Newnan area and features everything from agricultural contest to an exciting midway with carnival rides and games. The fair will continue through October 9, with plenty of free parking and easy access from I-85. Admission is Five Dollars with children under six years old free. The 2008 Coweta County Fair will be open from September 18-September 27 at the Coweta County Fairground Complex south of Newnan Georgia. The event is sponsored by the Newnan Kiwanis Club Inc, the fair features exhibits, contests, food, entertainment and rides. Plenty of Parking is available, and admission is $5 per person. Ride tickets are extra. To get there, tale Lagrange Street South towards Moreland and turn right on Pine Road, or take I-85 south to exit 41, turn right on US 27 and then left on Pine Road. The Coweta County Fairgrounds is located on 80 acres south of Newnan near I-85. It is a large multi-use complex with many unique facilities available for various conferences, exhibitions and other activities. The Conference Center (Exhibit Building) has over 6,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and seats up to 450. It can be divided into smaller room. A kitchen is available for catering.
