A beautiful gem lies in wait about 20 minutes from where I live. The lush gardens with their ever-changing colors, paths that lead past lakes and ponds into the undergrowth of the forest where treehouses delight, whispering benches, amazing fountain shows with color and music and fire, and a fabulous conservatory are just some of the elements to be enjoyed at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. While attending a performance by the Kennett Symphony Orchestra in the outdoor amphitheater a few weeks ago (they performed Gustav Holst's Jupiter!!!), I approached a concession cart for a beverage.
