steves white mountain blog: Ice castles or the real thing in the White Mountains of NH
- 01/20/15 10:54 PM
These Man Made ice castles seem to be all the rage for travelers to view. They are a hit attraction in the town of Lincoln New Hampshire. There is somewhat of a captured audience when it comes to ski families looking to provide another venue for their kids to enjoy. When the ice is lit at night it really is a spectacular sight.
If you have a half an hour and time to kill before dinner... this is a great stop.
Very "COOL" place and when it's lit up at night...it's magical. tickets range from $6-$13 depending on the day of (8 comments)

Spring is my favorite times of the year...we are moving from white to Green, it's not too hot or too cold. The Mountains are high and the valley's are low...peaks are white and the golf courses are getting ready to open.
There is no place in the world like the Mount Washington Hotel...over 100 years old a classic grand hotel. The Golf course was a regular stop for Babe Ruth, Bobby Jones and Ben Hogan. I love this course and the great view.
Many of my friends have been to weddings here, the fourth of July fireworks celebration is (11 comments)
...words and pictures can work together to communicate more powerfully than either alone. I saw this Fox in the middle of the road, he wasn't in a big hurry and I wasn't sure how or when I might incorporate the shot - but I know it conveyed a feeling ( at least to me).

steves white mountain blog: Steve's white Mountain Blog - New Hampshire - March Hike.
- 03/23/12 07:35 AM
Steve's White Mountain blog. It is almost inconceivable that I was able to hike in a tee shirt in March, and on trails that are normally still snow covered this time of year. The Franconia Notch State Park - is the home of Cannon Mountain ski area ( New Hampshire - State owned)....Echo Lake, Profile Lake, Mount Lafayette, Mount Liberty and a number of other 4,000 - 5,500 foot peaks ( all worth hiking if you have the time). This shot was taken March 23rd - from the top of Artist Bluff - Looking Across at Cannon with Echo lake (10 comments)
What do you do the first Monday after rolling your clock back an hour? I decided to run up to the Franconia Notch State park and watch the sun climb the mountains. The Moon was still out when I jumped out of bed...and the day is off and running.
Just the top of Mount Lafayette shone the sun as I entered the Notch park way in Lincoln New Hampshire.
The Beavers have been very busy at Profile lake...but I didn't see any creatures at this hour on the morning.

Northern New England is a blaze of color, but weekends mean business in the real estate profession. My photo journal is often relegated to early morning observations and the short time before sunset when I'm home again. Here are the sights from this Realtors window - in the White mountains of New Hampshire, I hope you enjoy them.
Sundown on a Saturday night...after a long Builders show case and two offers today, my reward is my living room window view.

Envy is a waste of time, you already have what you need...make the most of what you have.
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's we would be happy to keep our own.

Tonight’s Moon is a True Blue Moon…Really!! A Blue Moon as many of us know it…is when there are two full moons in a month. These are not true “Blue Moons”. The definition has gotten obscured over the years. Back in the 1930’s (August 21st 1937 to be exact) we had a fourth full Moon during the summer season. Seasonal Moons were given the designation of Early (in this case summer)…Mid summer and the late summer moon. So when it was observed that another Moon in a season couldn’t be called the late summer moon “again” the term Blue moon (20 comments)
Every small town use to have a movie theater, many have rusted and faded away. This could have easily happened to this little two screen movie house in Plymouth. It is almost inevitable when age and repairs out pace income the sad reality is the locals are forced to drive to a mega-plex miles away. The trick was to find a patron of the arts who had an idea to make the venue profitable enough to work. steves white mountain blog: Landscape can make the home special...Photo Gallery

Like many in the Real Estate profession I have seen spectacular homes and others that it would be cruel to confine prisoners too. But rarely am I overly impressed with a landscape job. Prepare to be wowed by these photos.
This is the stone stair case leading to the ski slopes, the master plan calls for use of natural material, and these huge stones were incorporated in to the landscape to access the Loon Mountain Ski Slopes from this house.
Another set of stairs that lead to the front door, and a massive retaining wall was required to build (10 comments)
