The Humane Society of York County's 10th annual Christmas Store in Fort Mill, sponsored by its PAWSibilities Thrift Shop, opens this coming week on November 1st and will stay open until December 26th. The Christmas store is filled to the brim with magical holiday items. In fact, 3,100 square feet of filled to the brim! What's better than getting some Christmas shopping done and supporting  a great cause at the same time?

April 30th is National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day. It really is the perfect day to adopt a shelter pet in the Charlotte, North Carolina metro area (or anywhere else for that matter). Although, I could argue that any day of the year is a perfect day to adopt a shelter pet. Millions of homeless dogs and cats are housed in shelters in the Charlotte metro area, as well as all around the country, all hoping for a loving, fur-ever home.

With many of us about to begin our Christmas shopping right after Thanksgiving this week,  a quick reminder that the PAWSibilities Christmas Shop benefitting, the Humane Society of York County in Fort Mill is open for business through December 27th. This is the eighth year the shop is open for the Christmas season and each year I've always found some special items for both gifts and decorating. I love knowing that my purchases go towards supporting my personal, favorite shelter in the Charlotte area, as all proceeds go to provide care for homeless animals until a loving fur-ever home is found.

The Humane Society of York County in Fort Mill, South Carolina (just over the state border from Charlotte, NC) sponsored the local "Clear The Shelters" event this past Saturday, July 23rd. This was the second annual, one-day only event when all adoption fees were waived and the first time the Humane Society participated in this nationwide event.
 
I'm happy to report that the "Clear The Shelters" event at the Humane Society of York County was a big success! Fur-ever homes were found last Saturday for 22 cats and 16 dogs! What was really exciting was that homes were found for dogs that had been in the … (33 comments)

The Humane Society of York County in Fort Mill, South Carolina (just over the state border from Charlotte, NC) is sponsoring the local "Clear The Shelters" event this Saturday, July 23rd. This is a one-day only event when all adoption fees will be waived.  
 
Clear the Shelters is a nationwide pet adoption initiative whose purpose is to connect animals in need with loving new families. Animal shelters all around the country will be joining in on Saturday, July 23rd to clear the shelters! In 2015 more than 19,000 pets were adopted at over 400 shelters nationwide.
