Anyone else see a problem with that posture?

There is a great discussion (now that one unruly commenter has been exorcised) going on over on Randy Prothero's blog regarding professionalism and designations. What I'm noticing - and this should come as no surprise - is that those of us who have designations firmly believe they are important components that have led us to the success we enjoy, and others who are successful but did not include designations in their path to success for the most part are sending the message that designations have no value.
