Buyers in the Carlsbad real estate market have lots of options, depending on their budget and interests.
With the ocean, 3 lagoons, Carlsbad Village, rolling hills, canyons and greenbelts, there are plenty of different neighborhoods to buy in, as well as a diversity of housing types and styles.
Laguna Del Mar, built in the late 1980s, is located on rolling hills, tucked away just east of the Aqua Hedionda Lagoon south of Carlsbad Village. These homes (PUD or Planned Unit Development, not condos) are sited in such as way so as to provide views of the neighborhood, the open space, and the lagoon, and with the proximity to the ocean residents can enjoy the cooling ocean breezes throughout the year.
An attractive pool and tennis courts add to the feeling of a seaside resort. And a short drive, or bike ride (beware, there are some hills), leads you to the Carlsbad beaches south of Tamarack Avenue. Carlsbad Village is about 10 minutes to the north, with a host of dining and shopping possibilities, including my faves, Le Passage and Fish House Veracruz.

The homes at Laguna Del Mar are all attached, but as twin homes, so each unit has a neighbor only on one side. Garages are at the rear of the home so views are not obstructed.
The community is ungated, with homes on tree-lined winding roads and small cul-de-sacs.
The Laguna Del Mar homes are primarily 2 and 3 bedroom units ranging in size from about 1200 SF up to 1800 SF.
There are both 1 and 2 story homes. Residents pay HOA fees of a proximately $205 monthly (but these should always be verified), and children attend the Carlsbad Unified School District.
Currently there are only 2 Laguna Del Mar homes available in the Carlsbad real estate market, priced at $505,000 and $619,000. Both are 2 bedroom 2 bath homes.
