This Old House - Home Inspection Nightmares - Series XXI

By
Real Estate Agent

When it sometimes becomes a little quiet around my house, and I'm in need of a little humor, I surf over to the "This Old House" website, and visit "Home Inspection Nightmares."

They have released series number XXI, a series of 30 hilarious examples of Home Inspection Nightmares.

A few samples among the 30 examples and pictures  include the following:

·   A shower installed in front of an electrical panel box.

·   A tackle box used as an electrical panel.

·   An installed downspout immediately above an electrical panel.

·   A basement toilet installed approximately 48" above the floor.

If  you are in need of a laugh, visit the slide show at: This Old House Home Inspection Nightmares XXI.

I have seen the elevated toilet scene before.   In fact the entire bath room was like that.

LOL, Myrl - we love watching this old house and had never seen the bloopers.  Can't wait to check it out.

Sounds like some of my inspected homes over the years. Used to see more of that stuff 15-20 years ago. Now people know they have a inspection going to happen.

Myrl - here is one for your list: the house we are renovating has the electrical box in the closet, behind the clothing! Talk about a fire waiting to happen! We are moving and enlarging the closet and making the wall with the electrical box a side wall in the bedroom. Who thinks of these things? Or better yet, do they think at all?
