Interior ReDesign Tips in Palm Beach County- Are You the Master of Your Bathroom? It doesn't matter what size your bathroom is, you can make it your own spa retreat.
You can follow these 5 inexpensive tips for an easy update to your bathroom.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall-- let's face it, you look at this object every day, and through this you see YOU every day. If it is desilvering (that creeping de-mirroring at the edge of your mirror) there are 2 things you can try:
1. Replace it- this is the easy way out and depending upon the age of your mirror, may be the best thing you can do, especially if you're planning on replacing the existing light fixture that is over the mirror.
2. Frame it- depending upon your particular design, you may want to consider placing a frame around your existing mirror. You can go to your local home improvement store and have a frame cut to fit, then paint or stain it to coordinate with your colors.
3. You can remove the large mirror that covers the whole wall and replace it with 2 mirrors over each sink.
You've Got to Have Some Pull- Faucets and other bathroom fixtures offer a quick and usually easy update to most any bathroom. If you have brass fixtures, replacing them with any of the "new" looks such as brushed nickel or pewter can instantly update your area. Don't forget to include any door knobs or pulls and towel bars in the area.
How Dry I Am!-Unless you're a newlywed, if you're still using the towels you received as a wedding gift, it's time to treat yourself to some new towels. Make them large, thirsty and fluffy! Thread count does matter.
You've Got to Put Down the Ducky!-Why not art in the bathroom? And I don't mean the cute little rubber ducky plaques. Pick a wall, one that you may see every day and place a work that you enjoy seeing. It doesn't have to be expensive.. it could be a framed poster that you bought just because you liked it.
Let Me Light the Way- first thing is to ditch the builder basic big round strip of lights that are above your mirror. There are so many options now that while you're changing out your mirror, this is the best time to look at what's new. And, not only what's new but what works for your bathroom. This is where you get ready to face the world. With the proper lighting, you can make sure the face the world sees isn't some aberration made up under fluorescent light. Pendant lighting can be good if wall space is at a premium or if you do not want to damage any existing tile or mirrors, however, you need to use these with other lighting sources since they may not provide sufficient lighting alone.
Of course, if you really want to remodel your bathroom, you can start fresh with new flooring, paint, and sinks and counter tops, but the above are quick and easy steps you can take now!!!
