“You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile!” Well ARE You?

I was on the “blog home” page the other day and I looked to my right at all of the many AR smilemembers whom I follow.   Want to know what I saw?

A lot of SMILING Faces!

Well yes, there was a frog, and a door, and oh yes, a fountain and birds (I do love these bloggers, though) however for the most part the members to whom I subscribed, whom I Follow, all have nice, welcoming smiles on their faces.

So what, you say.  Well I was wondering if I subscribed to those members because I liked their smile….. or perhaps did I like their blogs because their smile came through in them?

Without naming names (because what’s the point, you know if you are smiling in your profile picture)  I’ve not always subscribed to or read some posts because the author’s profile picture didn’t seem very welcoming.

Yes, I know, don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but we’re human, and we do.

We tell our clients that all of the time…. “You only have 10 seconds to make a good first impression.”  Tell me honestly you haven’t said that to a Seller at least once in your life.

I also know that when I managed a sales office, upon the suggestion of a consultant, we placed mirrors on everyone’s desk reminding them that how they looked was how they were coming across on the phone.

See, titles catch our attention, but so does your welcome mat, which is your profile picture.

So if you’re thinking of getting a new profile picture… don’t forget to SMILE!

Smile

Matt- I think you have to go with what is comfortable for you.  But a friendly face is always welcome.

Gay- you can't help but smile if someone smiles at you!

Patti- They do set the tone.  You never know what will happen after that.

Suzanne- I agree.  Be yourself (and hopefully you'll be smiling on the inside.)

Alexandra- And, happy Saturday Smiles to you and Ron and well.  You are absolutely right.  The eyes show the inner person as well.

Sussie- thank you and try the mirror.  It really can work!

Barbara- Right you are.  I use it a lot if I happen to have a less than pleasant cashier in front of me.  I smile and they usually return my smile.

Alexandra- I see Toni's pic every day but I'm making a special point of going over there today.

Jill- We're all human and no one wants to have to interact with someone who's doesn't appear to be friendly.

Nancy- wasn't Jay's pic just perfect!

Kelly- years ago when it wasn't the norm to have a picture in marketing pieces, I was resistant as well.   However, I like the idea of it now.

Roy- I will do that!

Jay & Michelle- stay tuned for instructions!

Kathy, This sure brought a smile to my face.  You are right, we are not fully dressed until we have our smile on.

Kathy, you are so on point with this.  I have a hard time relating to a profile pickture without a face!

We also need to be aware of our resting facial expression . . .  so many people look like their dog died and I know they're not even aware.

Kathy: Even when we talk about serious things, we can still have a "friendly" face. Many people when they are in repose, have a downturned mouth. They need to practice to always have upturned corners of their mouth. After awhile, your face stays that way. Honest.

Morning Kathy :) You don't hardly see me without a smile regardless of how my day is going.  There is a reason behind the madness.  :)

Adorable video!! I love that song. Reminds me of when my girls were little and ran around the house singing it. BIG time memories for me on this one Kathy. It made me smile!

Kathy, a smile is the only thing we wear that fits us perfectly.  Smiling is contagious.  Who wouldn't love to see happy people wearing those heartfelt smiles?
