New condos in San Francisco along the Van Ness corridor

There's a building boom going on in San Francisco, with cranes spotted almost everywhere one looks. Much of the building is in the South of Market area (SOMA) and along Market Street, both commercial and residential. However, some condominium projects are being built along the Van Ness Avenue corridor, too, in the northern part of the City. Three in various stages of completion are:

Marlow, at Clay and Van Ness

Marlow condominiums Clay and Van Ness

Marlow is nearing completion, with only 1 unit unsold at this time, a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo approximately 990 sq.ft. in size. It is listed at $1,046,000. 2 residents have already moved in, and soon the ground floor commercial space will be occupied.

1645 Pacific, Pacific Ave near Van Ness

1645 Pacific Avenue

1645 Pacific will have 39 condo units, ranging from Junior 1-bedroom units, to homes with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and an office.

Amero, at Filbert and Van Ness

Amero 1501 Filbert Street

Amero will consist of 27 two- and three-bedroom condos with a rooftop terrace. Some units will have decks, some city and bay views.

If this area of the City -- where Nob Hill, Russian Hill, Pacific Heights and Cow Hollow meet; near the shopping and dining areas of Polk Street, Union Street and Van Ness itself -- is the spot you love, where you might have a view of the bay and enjoy a short stroll to Fort Mason, Aquatic Park and other iconic San Francisco landmarks let me know. I'd be happy to share more information about these new condominiums as well as previously built homes, and help you live your San Francisco dream.

....and, I've been told plans are underway for an 8-story building at the corner of Van Ness and Washington which will have 39 condominium units.

Good evening, Lottie. The price of housing in CA is mind numbing. $1M would buy a palatial mansion in this area.

Laura, thanks for spreading your vote of confidence.

Michael, you're right--prices are high here, homes tend to be small, but we're not in them a lot--all year long we're outdoors, playing (when we're not working.) The San Francisco Bay Area is costly, but a very exciting, stimulating place to live.

Good morning Lottie. I believe that SH has the highest cost per square foot in the country, but great to see that new construction is going on.

Hello, Joe. So many people want to live here, there's a real housing crunch. These condos are in a great area of town and are being snapped up quickly. Marlow, for instance, has only 1 unit unsold, and it's not quite ready for occupancy.

I'm looking forward to the Amero, too. I will be more upscale than the others; rooftop terrace with BBQ, views, etc. I like Marlow, although the units aren't large. The location of all 3 is superb, in my opinion.
