I worked in an office doing loan modifications during the most recent Real Estate crash and every week, the office manager would take out an ad that would cost $10,000 to run. He would tell everyone prior to the ad breaking that he bought ads and to man the phones! Next day, they rang off the hook. You got your share of business

ONE CALL YOU GET THROUGH EVERYBODY WINS

When you pay good money, when you take the time and spend the effort to get known, then being available is the final step. If you go back decades when they had these commercials on TV where if you call NOW...they throw in a second set of knives, they had a bank of phone numbers and operators standing by to answer. If not, how many people you think would stick around until answered

MIND YOUR BUSINESS 

When I have product to manage or move, I am available because that is the moment I live for. That is what will open the cash register and cause that little "ding" sound. It is all about that. In between the in between, you don't have to be on full alert but a simple monitoring and minding of your business

THE GOLDEN RULE?

However, this is not true for the operations who use the golden rule as in I have the gold and I rule. Try contacting the city, state, federal operations, airlines, utility companies and some big box operations and you have to put up with their way or the highway. They do bulk business and gain & lose customers often

THE POINT

Lets recap and bring the point home. If we take the time and spend the effort to get business, then the business has to come first. It runs on cause and affect. Think I am making this up? For almost 100 years, mom and pop operations were run this way. No one was out to lunch or too busy to attend to income matters WHY? Because income matters...that's why!

While we are at it...remember doctors making house calls? lol However....that was the norm for its day
