Vigilucci's Gourmet Market - The New Italian Market in Carlsbad Village

Vigilucci's Gourmet Market in Carlsbad CA I discovered yesterday that Carlsbad Village has a new Italian market in town, Vigilucci's Gourmet Market, right in the heart of the Village on State Street.

The Vigilucci's Gourmet Market is actually not NEW, having opened last November, but I hadn't noticed, having not been in that part of town, other than in my car, for some time. Funny how you miss these things when driving instead of walking.

So of course I had to check it out on foot, and acquire some pasta for dinner and some photos for this post.

As you can see in the pics, there are all kinds of goodies, perfect for stocking the larder, giving as gifts, and taking home for lunch and dinner when your cooking creativity needs a boost or you are just feeling lazy.

They also do catering, and you can sit outside on the sidewalk in their mini-cafe and enjoy wonderful food or dine in their restaurant next door that's been a staple of the downtown area for years.

Jeff, we have a really good and popular Italian market near us and it's been so successful over the years that they moved to a different location with about twice the square footage of the original location. It's hard to go into one of these and come out without having bought something!

Sounds like you were at their restaurant a mile south down the coast right on the coast road with the ocean views. The one in town, adjacent to their new market, does not offer that, but the food, I think, is pretty much the same.
