Wordless Wednesday...Chef’s Night Out!

 

Our furniture arrived yesterday! Yea!!!!  If you’ve ever moved you know that your most important job is to carefully check everything coming in for any visible signs of damage and directing where the furniture and boxes will go (even though they’re clearly marked. ) You also have to make sure that they don't damage your home while bringing in your furniture!

Having Larry and my brother there allowed me to start going through the many boxes marked Kitchen! (With so many kitchen boxes, you’d think I was channeling Will Hamm!) I barely made a dent so needless to say, The Kitchen is Closed!!!

Kitchen organization is a tought thing. On our Florida short term rentals i am always amazed as to how people rearrange things.

Lots of pretty good restaurants in the Houston area...so I think you will be ok. My favorite is Bistro le Cep on Westheimer. That place is amazing.

Yes the chef needs a day or two off. Pizza maybe. Of course tomorrow being Valentines day the chef needs the day off just because.

Some things are better put off for another day, Kathy. I do not envy you having to unpack all of that stuff. What used to take me 3 days to unpack and set up over the years has morphed into 3 weeks.

Michael Jacobs LOL we ended up with pizza!!!  I have yet to have some good Texas barbecue. 

Wayne Martin thankfully we have USAA and so far only one broken glass.

Barbara Todaro I like to be methodical when I unpack and don't want things everywhere so yes, it will be slow. I was going to cook tonight because I found a pot but still looking for my knives, etc.

Donald Urschalitz I enjoy cooking and have been cooking for my brother, his wife and Larry while we stay there because she babysits her grandchildren during the day.

Dorie Dillard CRS GRI ABR No kidding!!!   We are having to go through every box to find items so nothing will be left unopened!!! But I know what you mean...no use moving it and letting it sit there unopened. 

Grant Schneider the bed was set up but we were too tired to do anything else so we went back to my brother's.

Hi Brian England we looked renting or buying depending upon what was available which was not a lot. So we ended up renting. 

Hi Amanda S. Davidson I'm not sure which area had the most boxes, the kitchen or my closet.

Almost every day I ask my wife what is for dinner.  Sometimes she tells me basically, the kitchen is clean, we're going out.  It works for me

Been there and done that! Not fun. I'm not one to let it sit either. Nice to know it's all put away and the boxes are broken down.

Lucky for me (very very lucky) that the last two moves were done small amounts at a time. We lived close enough that we could move a jeep full at a time and unpack as we went along. When the movers came it was mostly for the furniture.
