Wordless Wednesday...Too Late for Easter?

One of the benefits of our early morning walks has always been catching wildlife searching for their early morning breakfast.

We saw this little guy the other morning and he was just as surprised as we were. The look on his face seemed to say “Am I too late for Easter?”

If you want to see what the rabbits, squirrels, deer, and other wildlife do when you’re not watching try to go out when they’re out...early morning or just before sunset.

An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day. Henry David Thoreau

Hi Kathy,

I love seeing wildlife as well.  We have 3 rabbits in our yard at many different times and it makes our dogs go nuts!

Hi Jeffrey- when we had our Brittany, she would sit for hours by the pool stalking a squirrel up in the palm tree.

Kathy,

The bunnies have no idea or care what our human calendar says.. I love your quotes, and it reminded of one of my favorite quotes of Thich Nhat Hanh on walking,

“Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.”

Hi Ron and Alexandra- I love that quote!!!  If we open our eyes, there's so much to see that nature offers us.

This year I spent Easter alone without any fanfare.  And, yesterday, I momentarily forgot that and wondered when the holiday would be coming!  What a crazy year we've had.  Perfect for a late arriving rabbit to appear!

Hi Myrl- It's hard to look back at 2020 and realize that we've moved past that year and are already in another one.

I wouldn't mind running into that little guy on a walk. Much better than the alligator pics you used to share!

Hi Sharon- I haven't seen any gators here but have seen more snakes than I have in years!  I don't do snakes.

No, I would not want to see snakes either!

Wildlife is fun to watch Kathy as long as they venture away from the backyard garden!

Hi Wanda- I get it. We had issues with the iguanas eating our flowers in South Florida and I can remember planting some caladiums once and the next day the deer had helped themselves to all of them.

We have always been pleased to see these.  Not so pleased when they were presented as gifts without faces by the outdoor cat, but now that he is inside, we see a lot more of them.

Morning Kathy,

It has been awhile since I've taken a early morning walk.  That will end next month, when the season really starts.

We see their droppings all over the yard, as well as those of deer, and some unrecognized.  They love the fresh leaves of the young flower plants.

Hello Kathy,

That bunny looks to be of the over-sized variety ... or perhaps it is an illusion in the photo and video.
