My closer at Stewart Title always visits family for vacations, and always tell me - "wish I could take trips to a different destination". She has a lot of family, and that is how they spend their vacations. I am just the opposite, don't have any family, so plan trips to destinations that intrigue me.
Sometimes as we age, traveling is not so easy, if you have trouble walking, or breathing in high-altitude locations. I know the airline traveling part is frustrating oftentimes, especially when detours, delays, or cancellations happen. When you have allotted only so many days per City, and that gets changed, it can throw off a vacation.
There are places I have been that many of my friends/colleagues said they would never travel to. Costa Rica was one of them. Bugs, scorpions, alligators, iguanas, and mosquitoes turned them off. I was intrigued by the different kinds of monkeys we saw, and some came pretty close to our group. The howler monkey and White-headed monkeys were fun to see. We don't get to see these in Denver unless you visit the zoo. Did you know Costa Rica has over 200 volcanoes? A few are still active, and one erupted a couple of days before I got there, and was lucky to land with ash in the air. Have never been to a coffee plantation, and was fun to see the process, the fields, and how they harvest the beans.
There are only two States that I have not been to - Alabama and Vermont, which could happen in the near future. Have been to all the Canadian provinces except Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Newfoundland.
I love the Caribbean islands, and have been to a few several times either directly flying or via a cruise ship. After the recent Hurricanes, not sure they look the same.
Back several years a lender friend had just gotten divorced, and she wanted to do a trip to Europe - what fun! Two weeks, four countries, and so much laughter, we were crying at times! Lots of cultures, photos, and memories!
When I flew to Montreal a few years ago to spend a long weekend, everyone I met said, if you love our City, you should visit Quebec City. They said it was very French, smaller, but very quaint. I went a few years ago, and LOVED it.
This year's vacation to Calgary & Banff was very fun and working on next year's vacation, maybe to Portugal and Spain.
Had I not entered into the real estate industry, I probably would not have been able to take these trips.
