A Feng Shui Consultant in Oyster Bay Long Island

Sometimes I believe Long Island has Feng Shuied itself.  Just a tiny glimpse of the wonderful Spring that we've all been waiting for came on a day that was predicted to break a record and hit 60 degrees.  The weather men were off a bit.  Long Island hit 70!

I don't believe ANYONE stayed home.  Laura and I decided to head up North to the lovely town of Oyster BayIt was time to reconnect with Nature, spend time OUTSIDE after a very long winter.  As you can see in the photos, the snow hadn't even melted yet after a whopping 14" had hit our area.

If you wander just beyond Oyster Bay, you will end up in a beautiful place called Oyster Bay Cove.  We are doing a Feng Shui Consultation in Oyster Bay next week...and doubt we'll have the weather we had on Saturday.

Long Island has some of the highest taxes in the Country.  As a matter of fact, EVERYTHING costs more here.  These shots show why Long Islander's complain...but don't leave unless they HAVE to : )

Carole - The scenes from Long Island are a far cry from what 99% of outsiders see in the media.  Most of what gets publicized is in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn or some of the other boroughs.  Thanks for sharing the alternate side of NY.  Oyster Bay is definitely a beautiful area.

Carole - I loved Long Island when I lived there! Oyster Bay is a great little town. Your pictures are wonderful and the annual Oyster Fest is a really fun thing to do there come October. But for now, enjoy the Spring and the Summer months ahead!

Carole,

What a beautiful area! I would love to vacation there or be fortunate enough to live there.  I'm glad to hear you had a taste of warm weather and were able to get out and enjoy it.

I enjoyed your beautiful pictures very much and felt like summer isn't too far off....

Hi Carole!  What beautiful photos of your area!  Funny but, I recently found out that I had skin cancer (several areas) and had them removed this week by a physician who practiced on Long Island for over 10 years!  He is FABULOUS and did a beautiful job!  (However, I have to say, thank goodness I had my photo done before I had this done!  HA!)

Rich, It was a much needed gorgeous day.  We had gotten such a huge storm only the week before, it was still melting that day!

Kathy, We've had more then our share this year...and did you notice the Farmer's almanac called for a bitter winter? They are never wrong!

Cynthia, It felt SO good to be outside and actually be able to take our coats off....some people were in shorts.

Carol, Oyster Bay is beautiful.  I would live there if I could :)  I hate that New York is shown like that in the news---New York City is safer then it's ever been and certainly from when I was going in the 70's, it's a different place.

Craig, I love the Oysterfest and try not to miss it!  You must miss Long Island--not the prices but the beauty.  I would will when I have to leave :(

Paddy, It was gorgeous...cloudy but we really needed some warm weather (I don't have to tell YOU :)

Sharon, These winters get longer every year!  To me, anyway.  I really need to become a snowbird.

Bill, Oyster Bay is a beautiful place...I spend a lot of time up there (wishing I was a resident :)  I would miss not living near water (it's a requirement if I move).

Jo, It's coming.  We are back in the 40's but we needed a really gorgeous day--EVERYONE was outside!

Teri, Last January we broke a record of 60 degrees and another record this year.  Maybe it's global warming....

Debe, I'm so sorry to hear that.  I worked in Dermatology for a few years and know about the different kinds of skin cancer.  I saw something I didn't like on my mother's face and made her go in....Basil cell and she needed Mohs.   I'm glad to hear they got rid of it and it was caught early and I'm sure you'll heal just fine.  (Now go every 6 months for a full body check).

Carole: I've always felt that God gives us those little breaks of great weather as winter is winding down just to give us a much needed boost and renewal of hope after being worn down from a long winter.  I also believe he gives us winter so we can have some down time too, and then come out on the other end appreciating our lives and the world in which we live a little more.  Great photos.

I can smell the salt air and hear the sea gulls!  Boy, this makes me homesick for the Bay Area -- I guess New York is a lot closer, so maybe a vaction this summer would be great!  This looks like a wonderful place to visit.

How fun...wasn't the weather great?  I miss the ocean so truly enjoyed seeing these beautiful photos.  We have a lot of folks here in Lake Norman from Long Island...I think we are a bit similar only you have an ocean and we have a lake.  Someday I will visit!

Annie, It was lovely but very brief.  We are in the teens tonight :(  Just when I thought Spring was here!

Donna, What a wonderful way to think and you just may be right.  I am always so grateful when Spring comes, it's time for me to get out and stay out!  I used to love the winters but they seem to last longer then before--a sign of age no doubt.

Joan, I can't believe you mentioned that, we kept talking about the fresh smell in the air!  Spending a few days on the Island (when it gets warmer) and a few days in the City is a perfect vacation!

Diane, Your area looks so beautiful when I see your gorgeous pictures, I would love to visit there....house swapping for a week?  lol

Carole, beautiful photos of a beautiful place.
We had 10 degrees below zero one day and 2 days later were at 68... and today it was snowing again.

It sure was nice for a day or two. :)
Hopefully the 70++++ degree weather is just around the corner again, so we can all start taking more photos without snow in them.
