home stagers in atlanta georgia: Home Staging Your Kitchen - Before and After Pictures Included - 01/09/11 05:34 AM
I recently had the good fortune of mentoring a couple of home stagers here in Atlanta. In one of our sessions,  we found ourselves discussing the importance of a kitchen as it relates to the buyer. They had printed off instructions from a website on how to stage a kitchen. The advice, according to this site was to remove everything off of the countertops. Period, end of sentence.
As a professional home stager in Atlanta, I disagree with that advice. Here's why.
This is an example of what a kitchen looks like with nothing on the countertops:

home stagers in atlanta georgia: Short on Space? Keep it Simple. - 12/27/10 12:50 AM
If you're short on space, the solution is to keep it simple. This especially bodes well if your home is being put on the market. By "keeping it simple" you create more "visual" real estate.
Here's an example.
This is the living room, while under construction. This particular home was a home we had staged for one of our investors, hence the condition of the room.

With all the construction material moved out, and just the furniture brought in, here's what the room looked like:

Now here's what the room looks like with it completely arranged and accessories added: As … (22 comments)

home stagers in atlanta georgia: 189 Pictures Later... - 04/10/10 08:36 AM
189 Pictures Later.... and I ended up getting a few close-ups that I like.  It happens.  I've learned, over the years, that while the shot may look good in the view finder, it may not be exactly what you were hoping after you've uploaded them. The only investment in taking this many photos (of course, this is after the purchase of the camera) is your time.
Here are three, out of the 189, from a home we staged this past Tuesday.  The home is located in Roswell, Georgia and was professionally staged by Home Staging Atlanta - Georgia Interior Solutions.

Sex Sells and So Does Home Staging.  Just Sayin
Here's why:
Let's take this room as an example.  This is what it looked like before being professionally home staged by Georgia Interior Solutions (homestagingatlanta.com). Not very warm and inviting; is it? In fact, this sitting room is just plain boring looking.  Think it will impress the buyers? It hasn't.

Now here's the room after we staged it:

Through home staging:
Buyers can now envision living in the home Will become much more emotionally connected to the home Are given solutions with how to use the space And the … (17 comments)

home stagers in atlanta georgia: How to Arrange a Living Room When Selling Your Home - 05/19/09 07:12 AM
How to arrange a living room when selling your home.

A common challenge for most sellers is understanding what actions to take in each of the rooms.  Given that we live amongst our things, we end up being familiar and perhaps even comfortable with the current arrangement.  However, there are some extremely easy and very effective changes that will work in almost every living room out there.
Here's a collage I created of an occupied home we had staged:

home stagers in atlanta georgia: Stagers Do it With Style - 03/14/09 01:02 AM
Stagers Do it With Style
What style you ask?  It's the number one question asked by many of the vacant property owners that I've had the good fortune of staging their home.  And it's a question I never mind answering.
Let me begin by telling you what it is not:
It's NOT about my style; my preferences, likes and dislikes.  It's not about me, the professional home stager
It's NOT about your style (the homeowner).  While on the surface that may seem harsh, I mean no disrespect.  There's a good reason, trust me.
So... the answer as to what style will … (17 comments)

home stagers in atlanta georgia: The STORY Behind the Staging - 12/28/08 12:28 PM
As many home stagers can attest, there always seems to be a back story to the staging projects.  And... as I organized my photos today, it was like a trip down memory lane.
While it's not uncommon to never meet the homeowner, in this case, I never even met the agent. And no, that's not the unique part of the story.
First here are a few pictures: (Note:  The story follows the pictures)

Now here's the story:
The homeowner, having moved to Florida, had a difficult time getting his home to sell given that it was a) vacant (yes, … (12 comments)
