Now that the election has passed and things can get back to normal (somewhat), people are still realizing that they may need to short sell their home if its still underwater or just about to break even. There are cost of sales to consider when selling so if a home is worth $200,000 but $200,00 is still owed on the property then a short sale may be needed if the home must be sold due to divorce, non-payment or other hardship that is making the home a burden on the owner.
