china: How to think about the coronavirus? - 02/07/20 06:43 AM
I am known to be a smart lady.  A scientist in fact.  About a week ago my broker asked me what I thought of the new virus.   I hemmed and hawed and basically felt we did not have the facts.   I felt that the virus probably did not have the cases rate reported because I believed that the actual cases were underreported.  I thought that at the time there could easily be 200,000 cases.  Then in the next breath I muttered that the deaths might be being underreported because it only counted as a death from the virus if it was … (13 comments)

china: I am on the hamster wheel and not earning any money..... - 07/16/12 12:03 AM
This has been an interesting summer so far....Personally it has been going great!  A trip to China!  I took care of my brother after he had a  kidney removed because of cancer (not great but neccesary).  We are planning a famiy reunion  at the end of the summer.  My kids are doing well.  Even the animals seem fine.
Professionnly I am in a quandry.   The last house I sold by myself closed in May.  The maarket has turned and it is really getting difficult for me find homes for the buyers in Boise, Idaho.   The buyers cannot beleive the market turned.  … (6 comments)

china: Trip to Beijing day 6 -- The Great Wall of China - 05/21/12 10:02 PM

Day 6  -- The Great Wall of China

I must have been excited.  I woke up at 3:30 AM instead of 5:30 AM…  We were supposed to go with Stephanie, Emil and Jesse but Stephanie was sick and Emil had seen it 3 times.  I sent Randall upstairs to preserve my feet and I bought breakfast to go.  At 5 AM the street venders were already out and I bought 5 tea eggs, 2 sets of buns and a sandwich (veggie) for Emil and Jesse.  Turns out there were only 3 of us so I had too much food.  … (1 comments)

china: Trip to Beijing day 4 - 05/21/12 05:35 PM

Day 4 – Trip to Beijing

Okay today I woke up and many things hurt… I took 800 mg of Advil and hoped for the best…. Today we planned to go The Great Wall of China…. We were going to do it like the Chinese and take the train for $1/ each way…  Today we are joined by Daniel Wenz from the College of Idaho.  We had breakfast and realized we were running late so we took a cab to the train station.  Then we found a huge line…. We waited on it for about 30 minutes.  I sat … (0 comments)

china: you know you are about to leave town when the phone starts ringing.... - 04/27/12 11:35 PM

You know you are about to take a trip when the phone starts ringing and you have more to do than time to do it in.... Wish me luck... May the phone start ringing so I can pay for my trip to China!  I am going to Beijing to see my son and GF!   This is going to be so much fun and so interesting...  I now have to make lists because as we all know business picks up when you are about to go away...  So far I don't have to refer any business out but I think … (1 comments)

china: Just finished another inspection - 04/13/12 10:17 AM
Well despite my silence I have been reasonably busy.   I finally closed 105 Bridgewater and I have 2 pendings.  I don't know why I have slowed my writing down.  I continue to work the market.
One interesting item is I am mentoring a new agent.  The first thing I am having her do is take the Paragon training so that we can really start working.  She is a hair stylist and gets leads from her clients... I am hoping perhaps to work with my friend.  I do not know how this will go.
Another fun thing is that my husband and … (2 comments)

Happy Chanukah from my home to yours!!!!!  This is the fifth candle of Chanukah and my middle son just arrived for the holiday.... We had a tradtitional (NOT) dinner of meat and vegitarian lasanga....One can only eat so much fried food in 8 days.....My husband read the boys both Hershal and the hanukah Goblin and Twas the night before Christmas..... It is wonderful to be together and we really miss our oldest son in China....It is strange it seems like yesterday when they were small and now they are all men.

Merry Christmas for all those who celebrate!  … (1 comments)

china: Kids are home....price reductions complete...offer in....turkey defrosting....watching star wars.... - 11/23/11 02:49 PM
Today the offer was rejected.  The clients were onto the next one with a low offer.  I think I must be frustrated with them....When they told me the price I smiled and said "lets write the 9th offer that will be rejected".  Maybe I am wrong but I don't think it will be accepted.  People don't usually go $10K lower in the first few days of a listing.... We gave them until Saturday.  They still don't understand that rushing the last clients during Thanksgiving weekend wasn't wise.  I told them that they probably could get their price in a week or … (2 comments)
