Rain, rain go away....Thanks for all the emails! We're okay!
My Mission Valley real estate farm has 39 condominium communities, and many of those on the western edge of the Valley have been hit hard by the rain and the floords.
The San Diego River — one national news service said that the "creek" had overflowed its banks — runs through the center of Mission Valley, and when it rains like it has for the past five days, it will flood. Not might. Will.

weather: It's raining... uh, windy.... uh, the sun is shining.... It's raining, windy, AND the sun is shining. - 04/21/10 11:05 AM
I can't make any sense out of today's weather, so I'll just chalk it up to Global Warming, more properly called Global Climate Change.
It started out this morning with sunshine, then turned cold and rainy, then back to sunshine, then some rain while the sun was shining, with high winds, and back to sunshine, then to more rain, then to more rain with the sun shining again. The lowest temperature was 42°F, on January 5 and December 25. The highest temperature was 98°F on April 20. Highest rainfall … (14 comments)

While other parts of the nation are celebrating the arrival of fall weather, we're not quite there yet here in San Diego. Although the calendar might say that we're in fall, San Diego doesn't always look at the calendar. For example, in 2003 and 2007, some of the worst wildfires in California history occurred in October.
If we look at the hottest temperatures ever recorded in the city of San Diego since 1872 when we started keeping records, the ten hottest days have occurred in September and October:
111°F - September 26, 1963 110°F - September 17, 1913 107°F - September … (11 comments)
