Attention Home Inspectors, I need a little help - 10/26/11 03:25 PM
I know this is the best place to fine it.  I have a daughter who's tub drain "stop" chain broke off.  Problem is it's in the closed position and they can't use the tub.  How do I get the darn chain to reconnect to the lever?
I tried a clothes hanger with no luck.  Help!
I even checked out "This old House"  great link but, my problem is I can't seem to find the plunger chain.

I'm glad I'm not eithteen again - 10/25/11 07:35 AM
Wonderful entertainer, I remember him well, but I'm glad I'm not eighteen again. I would not have the family I love so much. Remember back in the day when we only had 7 or 8 channels? Black and white too, but these folks made it so we didn't need any more. Enjoy this clip from one of our greatest generation. … (7 comments)

Staten Island Bridge toll "Car pool discount" - 10/21/11 11:39 AM
Staten Island Bridge toll "Car pool discount"
For the Port Authority crossings, Outerbridge Crossing, Bayonne Bridge, Geothals, and Hudson River crossings, you can get a neat discount if you have 3 or more people in the car.  Blow up dolls don't count.  You need live adults.  Great for commuters and even casual travelers.
Just go to EZ pass, 1 (800) 333-8655, press 9 for a live rep and sign up.  You will need to have an EZ pass account, so have your account number ready.
The only down side is that you must go through the "full service" toll both, and … (2 comments)

Trader Joe's, Staten Island, New York
Wow! What a great store.
You will find things here that you will not find anywhere else.  For example;
Imported Italian Fettuccine Alfredo,  Italian Penne Arrabbiata, Spinach Ricotta Ravioli, Trader Joe's Organic ground beef, Organic raw honey, Challah rolls, apple pie made without corn syrup, Veggie sticks, Olive oil potato chips, just to name a few.
I used to go to the Westfield, N.J. store, now I don't have to pay the $9.50 bridge toll to go to Trader Joe's.

The Leaders of our Country are liars - 10/20/11 08:37 AM
Think back 40 or more years, if you can.  What did our leaders tell us?  "If we impose this or that tax, it will solve the problem"  Really?  Then how come we still have the problem?
I'm afraid history does repeat itself.  Read the post below, interesting.  Folks, we MUST get involved, we just can't let our "leaders" do whatever they want.
Via Home Realty Group:
Yep, that is what I said, they all are a bunch of liars.
Do I need to spell it out for you?
President Obama, House Minority Leader Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Reid are lying to you … (1 comments)

This isn't about a Political Statement, it's about the state of America today. My Son! - 10/17/11 07:22 AM
This is my country, if you don't like it, why not go somewhere else?  I am shocked to read the post below, and I would never patronize an establishment that makes an employee go home and not work because he/she has an American flag pin on the suit lapel.
Via Kevin J. May Naples, FL Southwest Florida Real Estate (Prudential Florida Realty):
Most people I know have a little drawer or container in their night table, dresser, bureau or desk which is full of pins to commemorate their beliefs, religion, memberships, inspirations, aspirations, travels and identities.  I would guess that a near replica to this … (2 comments)

The Impossible Dream, or I was poo before I was poor - 10/15/11 07:44 AM
The more I learn about this man, Herman Cain, the more I like him.  In a recent interview he stated that "before I was poo, I was poor."  Meaning he was too poor to be poor. Worked his way up to be poor.  If you do a little research on the man, I think you will like what you see also.  In the link below, it talks about what he did at a recent rally.  The generator for the sound system died, and he started to sing, "The Impossible Dream"

Good news for Staten Islanders, Trader Joe's to open Friday 7 Oct 2011
At the old Ford dealership on Richmond Avenue.  If you've never been to one of their stores, you are in for a treat.  My wife and I used to go to Westfield, N.J., now we won't have to make the trip or pay the outrageous bridge toll.
See the article in Wednesdays edition of the Staten Island Advance for more information.
I'll see you at Trader Joe's

How I sold my last house in 62 Days - 10/05/11 12:56 PM
How I sold my last house in 62 Days
Maybe I should title it "How to sell your house in 62 days or less"
First order of business is to determine the best time of day to take photographs.  Then how to use available light with your flash.  Taking several shots of each room from different angles helps to determine the best one for publication.
Next an audio video to explain the "Features" of the house.  Just a quick look at the kitchen for example, you may overlook that it has a skylight and high hat lighting.  A video with an … (5 comments)

This is a post I have been wanting to write for weeks but couldn't find the courage because until today I didn't know what was going to happen to me.  Reading Jay Markanich's post A Very Sad and Dangerous Inspection made me realize I shouldn't wait any longer to write it.  Co-incidentally between last night and today I have had a … (3 comments)
