Maui Hawaii South Shore Condo Newsletter - May 2010I'm seeing a downturn of new condo inventory coming on the market. Is this because sellers who aren't really serious are waiting to list their properties? That will mean a higher percentage of what's for sale will be in the distressed category. From the past month's 74 new listings, about one third of them are either bank owned or potential short sales. What? Keawakapu Beach (Kay-ava-ka-poo) is in South Kihei Maui and stretches into Wailea. It's one of the best beaches in South Maui, with some very expensive real estate fronting the beach. Home prices can run to $10,000,000 easily. You can also find beachfront condos like the cozy Hale Hui Kai and the extensive Wailea Ekahi development. This beach is primarily for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling and sometimes surfing. Sunsets are pretty awesome too.
Where? There's a nice shady parking lot at the corner of South Kihei Road and Kilohana Drive, which is also where Kihei ends and Wailea begins. … (11 comments)

WAILEA IS ON FIRE!
Just a quick post today to insert a picture of the Wailea Fire Station. Now we all know that Wailea is really just a private planned community in Kihei, Maui - but it's trying really hard to be its own town. There's plenty of very expensive real estate in Wailea, and those properties need to be protected.... hence this nice fire station located right on the edge of Wailea "town". These guys are standing by and ready to put out fires in those multi-million dollar fairway estates and oceanfront homes.... and even some more humble abodes too.
