fun: Out with my camera today and came across some EGG-cellent photo opportunities - 04/07/12 08:28 AM
While at the gym I met my new work out partner, lucky for me he breaks easier than I do, but he does seem to be doing very well on his high protein diet.
Next up, as I was leaving the gym, which is near a Walmart, I noticed White Trash Egg coming out, dressed in the ever popular Sunday best for Walmart… in a ‘70’s tube top. (Shhh, I think she stuffs)

fun: Falling in love with fall - 10/24/11 01:12 AM
I love fall, the colors are amazing and as a armature photographer it gives me great opportunities to get some beautiful shots. But, kids, oh, the kids love fall for a completely different reason! As you can see even a leaf pile can be a place to play when you are a kid.
Now, if you have kids, there is a safety tip for them though. Make sure any pile they play in is located in your yard and not in the streets. If they play in piles in the street it is to easy for them to get hit by … (21 comments)

fun: Bowling with 3 year olds. In Beaverton, they don't have to be excluded! - 08/31/11 10:25 AM
One thing most people think is bowling is for big kid’s game, but, not at Sunset Lanes in Beaverton, Oregon. They have a ramp that even the littlest of kids can put a ball on that is in some cases weigh half as much as the bowler themselves. But, with one simple light push, the ball is on its way.

One thing I’ve always loved about Activerain is the friends I’ve made. A few years ago, I had the chance to teach a class on Activerain up at here office in Vancouver, WA and that is when I got to meet the most amazing person and we have become great friends because of that class.

Well, this past weekend we got to have a great BBQ at my friend Jill Watts' house on the Washougal River in Washougal, WA. Now, this was a great chance to meet her family and even some of her grandkids and mother-in-law.

As I left Raincamp today, I went out to dinner with the family. As I mentioned at camp, I always have dinner with the family. I have to admit we had it a little late today because our first choice of places to go was closed. Then we ended up going to Kidd Valley, I enjoyed the garlic fries at the Mariner’s game way too much.

fun: Halloween is when I choose to celebrate with my clients and their kids! - 11/02/10 12:21 AM


This year was another successful client appreciation party and though not everyone could come this year thanks to a nasty flu bug that has been going around, we still had lots and lots of fun. With hay rides, pumpkin carving, smores, bbq and best of all friends.

A view from Depoe Bay.... By the way an interesting fact about Depoe Bay, Oregon is that it was originally Depot Bay named after Charles Depot, but when the post office showed up in the 1930's they basically, well as most governments are, were stupid and changed it to Depoe. So now Depot bay is Depoe and its claim to fame is the world smallest harbor. (Weird, I know, but they do have a year round what watching as they have one whale that lives in the bay year round)

fun: Wordless Wednesday: I love playing air hockey… OK, I love winning at air hockey, there is a difference - 05/26/10 12:32 PM


I love playing air hockey, but don’t like losing! I’m very competitive even against my own kids. I have to admit when this shot was taken, there was less than a minute left in the game and we were all tied up. Not one to lose or even tie, I took the shot hoping the flash would distract my son enough that he would miss. It didn’t and I’m hoping this isn’t a sign that he is getting better and may soon beat me, I’m not ready to start losing yet.

fun: WE ARE MEN! Father/son campouts aren’t always dry or warm - 05/22/10 09:56 PM

We left yesterday afternoon for a father/son campout with our church and boy did we earn a manhood badge last night! We were supposed to arrive at 4pm, set up camp and eat at about 6pm. My son and I arrived at 4:05 to find we were the only ones that had showed up at that time.

Lucky for us, it was dry at that time, so we quickly set up our tent and tarps’ knowing what was coming. Once we got that done, it was about 5pm and since it was still dry and no one else had … (26 comments)

This picture was taken a couple days after we got the camera. My wife was playing with the camera and my daughter said "I bet you can't take a picture of me!" My wife grabbed the camera flung it over the seat and snapped the shot not knowing if it would be in focus or if my daughter would be in the shot. GOTCHA!

I’ve coached baseball and softball for at least 5 years now and one thing I’m not afraid to say is I like to win. But, it doesn’t and shouldn’t be at all cost, it needs to be fun, but I do want to make sure my players aren’t injured and they play as a team.

What sports are all about is teaching kids to learn to be part of a team and working together to reach a common goal of winning. Now if you play together, have fun and still lose, then … (8 comments)

fun: The Portland Trail Blazers season starts tonight, so don't try calling! - 10/27/09 04:40 PM


Summer is over and though it has been fun looking at guys like me playing basketball trying to get our fix. It is now time for the NBA to start up again and the Portland Trail Blazers start their season off again tonight again against the Huston Rockets.

fun: Annual Halloween customer appreciation party 2009 (For families with kids) - 10/25/09 09:20 PM

This year again we combined the family and my customers to make one heck of a party for everyone with kids and it was fun for all! We had hay rides, pumpkin carving, smores, cookie making, costume contests, open fire hot dogs and even a giant swing.
This is my favorite party of the year because so far each year it seems to be the last day of the year that you can have a party outside without it being to hot or too cold, but it certainly is fun for all who come.

Well, my oldest daughter just turned eleven and I hope she had a hoppy birthday. I know for me it sure seemed to be, and heck, it was a lot of fun as well! What made it so hoppy? Unlike most little girls her age, instead of wanting to go see Hanna Montana she wanted to go to a park and look for snakes and frogs. (And boy did we find them!)

My 3 year old daughter came up to my ear and whispered, I have something to sing to you. I said, "OK" then that is when she started singing in a whisper.

As the weather turns cooler and the trees start to drop their leaves, it can be a time of frustration as our heating bills go up. But, some people just don't care about that, they only see the true beauty of the season and by doing that, they can bring joy to others.
You see, all the kids in the neighborhood pulled out their rakes and started to rake up a rather large pile of leaves to jump in and have a lot of fun. We had some tree trimmers working the area and they saw what the kids were doing. … (10 comments)
