wandakubatnerdin: How to back up my business card...your opinion please! - 11/21/10 06:21 AM
How to back up my business card...your opinion please!
I am at the end of my supply of business cards and need to decide what to put on the back of the card to get optimum use and to promote future use by the receiver. This is my existing card:

I am looking to leave enough room to write a note or phone number by reversing the colors...should I just put the brokerage phone number on front and then write my cell number on back when handing it out for a personal touch?
Or add:
Emergency numbers? Local City web sites? … (23 comments)

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Weeeee!

The downtown St. George, Utah area is home to many pieces of outdoor sculptures from the whimsically lighthearted to those reminiscent of the area's history. This bronze statue brings back sweet childhood memories of a simpler time, "Swing me momma, swing me higher", my boys would say again and again!
Some are for sale while others have been purchased and remain as permanent displays for everyone's enjoyment. This piece of art, named Flight Time is by Gary Lee Price and is for sale at $17,000.

Motivational Monday: Don't be coy!
coy (koi) adj. 1. Tending to avoid people and social situations; reserved. 2. Shy or modest.
Being somewhat shy in real estate is a huge disadvantage and must be overcome or eventually you'll put yourself out of business. It is essential to be assertive when it comes to gaining a listing or negotiating a sales price for a buyer / seller. Taking a class on assertive training, seeking a support group or joining the local Toastmasters club will help. If you are timid and reluctant, your peers will know that, may feed on your weaknesses, rendering you ineffective … (24 comments)

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Nature's Highlights

Part of what makes southern Utah spectacular are the red rock formations that surround our area! While driving home from work, I noticed one part of the valley was overcast, roiling clouds threatening to spill themselves at any moment. I then looked at the brilliant, blue sky to the other side and witnessed how the vivid light played off the red rocks.
People love it here because of nature's beauty at every turn, can you blame them?! Happy Sunday to you all!

ActiveRain's #1 blogger visited southern Utah today!
Todd Clark's visit to St. George, Utah was much anticipated and most appreciated! We met at Marv's Drive-in, a local 50's type restaurant. His family and mine go back about a year or so when he arranged to come to pick up Athena, a pot-bellied piglet to take back home to Oregon as a pet.
It all started as I began blogging about Miss Prissy, Bacon and the seven piglets on ActiveRain, sharing the almost daily life, antics and downright cuteness of them all! (And I have pictures to prove it!) Todd contacted me asking … (22 comments)

Wordless Wednesday (almost!): REaDy or not, here I come!

While the front of this house is out of sight, apparently playing hide-n-seek, this tree is surely not! As I dropped off a friend, I turned the corner and Wow! The dark green of the evergreens behind further enhance the vibrance of the leafy tree putting it on a crimson display for everyone to admire.
Had I done a u-turn, I would have missed this beauty, thus confirming that 'everything happens for a reason' and Mother Nature wanted to share this southern Utah beauty with everyone! Enjoy!

Motivational Monday: Be like a bee and pollinate!
We know what cross-pollination does when bees distribute pollen among flowering plants, bushes and trees. The process ensures their overall success. Think of how you can use that analogy to widely allocate information while driving more traffic to your business by:
Using sphere of influence Targeting intended market Increasing web site existence Creating more business leads Enhancing existing relationships Branding on a consistent basis By creating an effective online marketing plan, you are on your way to developing a better presence while increasing awareness for your business. And if it works for bees, it can work for … (18 comments)

Another reason to wear your name badge and REALTOR® insignia!
While returning a few items for exchange at the local Dillard's store, the clerk noticed I was a real estate agent. It could have been my name badge but more likely it was my blue and silver REALTOR® pin on my lapel.
She asked me, "When looking for a home to buy, what is the first thing I should do?" My answer of course, "Contact your local, trusted lender source to get yourself qualified." " If you do this first, you'll":

That isn't a kid in a batman costume, that IS BATMAN! And the little girl in her glass slippers, twirling her glittery gown IS CINDERELLA! For that young boy, X-Men's WOLVERINE costume IS REAL!

Motivational Monday: Happy where you're heading?
If not, then do something about it.
After all, it is up to you.
Granted this year has been very rewarding in many ways and doubly challenging in others. One thing I've learned is you can never have too much education regarding the real estate industry. It is a constantly evolving process and we must engage ourselves, take the classes, go to seminars based on the latest trends. The rewards are great for you and even moreso for your clients!

Do you ever have days when even smiling becomes difficult?
Be like a clown and paint it on!
Life is a daily challenge, the neverending twists and turns, unexpected events that may try even the best of demeanors.
You've heard the saying, "Everyone loves a clown", haven't you?
Clowns possess the ability to make people forget their troubles through entertainment. When I think of clowns, I think of Red Skelton and a quote of his...
