I lost my cat Sheba on Valentines day. We had to put her down. She was with us for 16 years, the last 8 she had to take insulin shots twice a day. It took me a month befoer I could read the "Rainbow Bridge", and I have only read it once. I'm still not yet ready to read it again.

Matt - I have not seen this before and I am deeply touched. It brings back a lot of fond memories of the pets we have lost. I would like to show it to my wife, but I'm not sure she could make it through. Thanks for sharing. - Mike

What a beautiful piece Matt.  We too have lost a few friends and we are very happy to hear about the rainbow bridge, because the hole in the heart is huge! They were all so loyal and an absolute part of our family!

Hello Matt,

What a touching poem.......made me think of all the pet companions we have lost over the years.  It is truly beautiful.  Thank you for sharing.  (even though it made me cry)

There is no way that Zoey the Cool Cat is going outside to play with all those other critters. No sirree. She stays inside. I'm not about to let her get infested with those fleas on Rainbow Bridge.

Why do you have that as Members Only? I can't re-blog it.

Hi Rita: I have a confession - I didn't read it when I posted it.  I have read it many times before but I was afraid it would make me cry again too.

Hi Russel: Fixed - changed it to public.

Matt - This was sent to me by Gail MacMillan when I lost my kitty 4 months ago.  It is hard to read after losing your loved one.
