It is approximately 389 years young. The population as of May 2009 was 22,852 (and growing) with 6,536 dwellings according to the annual town report. We have municipality owned water, sewer, gas & electric plus fully staffed police and fire departments. The public schools are accredited grades K-12.

There are many highways that run through the town of Middleboro including the following Routes: 18, 24, 28, 44, 58, 105 and I495. We also have the benefit of the Middleboro/Lakeville MBTA commuter rail which has frequent service to South Station in Boston. There is also bus service to Boston. The park & recreations offers swimming, skateboarding, playground, shuffle board, an Olympic size swimming pool, soccer fields, baseball fields and tennis courts for all of your recreational needs.

Middleboro is well known for its status in cranberry production due to Ocean Spray having a manufacturing plant in Middleboro and their corporate headquarters located on the Middleboro/Lakeville town line. There are several other large corporations that use the Middleboro 02346 zip code as part of their operations.  The Christmas Tree Shop headquarters, Serta Matress, Sager Electronics,  Cirelli Foods, Brookfield Engineering, Pavestone, FedEx, Gerson, and soon to be Sapphire Engineering to name a few. The town has been very proactive in offering tax incentives to lure commerce to the area.
