Hi Kathleen,

if your dog can do it then so can I.  Ride a ferry that is.  I get freaked out when my husband suggests riding the ferry in Galveston.

ANGELIA:  Definitely take the trip. If the day is delightful and the water is calm, the ride is so smooth. I  know you will love it. Surprise your husband and tell him you would like to take that ferry trip and relax and enjoy.

That's great that he's so comfortable he's able to take a little nap, Kathleen.  Then he's all ready for the trip once you get off the ferry.

I am at the beach, and my neighbor's daughter is home spoiling my dog.  I'll bet he's eaten more biscuits in two days than I feed him in a month!

SALLY: Thank for stopping by. Buddy has turned into such a sweet wonderful best furry friend. If you only had seen him when we got him abused his first 13 months and aggressive you would think I had a different dog.  He accepted all our love and caring and began to trust us tremendously.

DARRELL: Buddy really surprised us. This was our first trip on a ferry with him and he adjusted so well with all the people and even the other dogs didn't phase him, He stayed right beside us and eventually lied down and slept so peacefully. We were astonished by his perfect exemplary behavior.

DAVID: You are so right in saying that beagles are so loyal and smart and so much fun. We love our Buddy. Would you believe he clicks his two bowls together and whimpers until we fill them with his water.

ANN: You might be correct in saying that he is pooped. We did a lot of walking. along the way we made stops to rest and buddy was given water. We actually carried a large water bottle just for him. He went into a deep sleep on the ferry ride back because he had an exhausting but enjoyable adventure .

HEATHER: When we departed the Island Queen in Falmouth he did walk about 10 minutes to the car in the lot and then he rested again in the car for a 90 minutes ride home. He never complained or caused any problem on this trip. We will definitely take him on another trip. Maybe that is why he was on his best behavior, he did not want to be left alone.lol

Dan, I bet your dog is having a blast while you are away. Next time you will have to try taking him along to the beach and see how he does.

PATRICIA: You should see him when he runs about playing with his ball. You would think he was running a metered race. When he gets tired or bored he usuallly will sleep or at least close his eyes.

Kathleen,

How could anyone disturb Buddy? That is the picture of total contentment - or exhaustion. :)

STEVE: I would have to say it is a toss, perhaps 50-50.  Buddy was absolutely fantastic, he walked and walked and walked. I say we had to cover at least 5 miles. On and off from 11am to 5pm

I love how dogs can be so carefree about their surroundings when it's time for a nap. All they need is a comfortable spot to lie down and then everything else goes away. Buddy looks like he made this ferry his own.

DAWN: I appreciate you finding this posting of the day we took our Buddy on a ferry for the first time to celebrate my aunt's 90th birthday. We walked close to 5 miles during the time we spent on the island. He was so good the entire day on the ferry, off the ferry, and on again. He slept the trip home, he was so exhausted.
