What a nice shot.
It reminds me of Spring, you can almost smell the flowers.
Oh, Carol, My sign....it's just gorgeous! I didn't see that listed on your website, are you going to make this available (please?).
Carol,
Those are pretty butterflies. Great picture with the flowers. Nice shot. :)
Steve
I too love butterflies but I haven't found too many really colorful ones around here. Soon they will be gone for the winter. Very nice photo Ms. Carol. Thank you.
Carol --- Craig said it all --- Simply elegant photo ---thanks for sharing.
Carol. Simply wonderful! Don't see many of these around my way anymore. Thanks for sharing.

I hope that you are saving all of these photos that you have - you should have a book! Ya know, a butterfly landed on Liam's toe the other day and wouldn't leave for ANYTHING! It was the coolest thing - we could get our faces right down there (I know, Liam's toe) and he still didn't fly away - eventually we had to "gently help" him onto the deck rail.
Nice color accents on that butterfly. I only see the occasional orange and black Monarch out here in the desert.
Craig - Thank you!
Laura - That sounds like fun! I'll check into it!
Yvette & Dennis - Thank you!
Richard - Thanks! But it's not spring ... I took this 3 days ago in my front yard. :)
Carole - Wow! You're sign, eh? Well, I'll have to make sure it gets up on the site very soon! :)
Steve - Thank you! We seem to have lots of them around this area. I'm on a butterfly hunt now ... this one really got my attention!
Susie - Yes - soon they will be gone, but till then ... SO glad you enjoyed!
Andrea - Thanks! Glad you liked it.
Nancy - Thanks! and you're welcome!
Liz - Thank you - and you're welcome! :)
Gloria - Thank you! We haven't seen too many all summer, but now they are coming out frequently!
Leesa - I have ALL of my photos saved. And I already have one book, working on another. Ya know, there is a superstition that says if a butterfly lands on you that it's a sign that you will be blessed with good fortune. Liam is obviously destined for great things! :)
John - We have several different Monarch species around here, but this Swallowtail was just striking! She never seemed to mind me getting close to her.
Access Realty - This was shot with an 35-85mm lens from a distance of about 18 inches or so. Lady Butterfly was being very cooperative.
Jim - Thank you! This swallowtail seems to have claimed my front flower beds as her nourishment station. :)
Hi Carol, the detail is amazing......how did you get her to pose so nicely for you?
Hi Carol! What a great shot--not only of the butterfly but, of the flowering shrub too! Have a great Labor Day weekend...
Oh my Carol you've got a winner in the photo. Absolutely beautiful.

Hi Carol... what a beatiful butterfly. I especially like how this shot shows the translucent nature of the wings! Gorgeous!
Ann - I asked her to pose and she said she would ... but I had to pay her in butterfly dollars. :)
Debe - Thank you! Hope you're feeling better.
Connie - Thanks! I thought she was beautiful.
Steve - She has been back several times, and recently I've seen a sulphur swalowtail, but he won't stay still long enough for me to photograph him. I think he's camera shy. Thanks for admiring her!
Were you able to get that close or do you have a very good zoom lens? Another pretty one.
