Hopefully none of you has had to suffer from the H1N1 virus, at least not the illness. I'm grateful that I haven't had to deal with it as an illness, however last week I was "exposed" to it as a Realtor and probably not in the way you would expect.
I received a call from a client wanting to view a house in her neighborhood which had just gone on the market. Since it was in her neighborhood she was pretty sure that she and her husband would want to put in an offer. What a great way to start the day!
Called the tenant to make an appointment and was told that his son had the H1N1 virus and it would be at least a week before we would be able to get into the house. Niether the client nor I wanted to walk in on H1N1 so had no problem with putting off the tour. So, when we do visit the house, what are the chances that the house will be H1N1 Free? My Dr. friend said germs will live on the surfaces for eight hours. I'm considering wearing plastic gloves to open doors and keep my hands away from my face. I'm hoping the tenant will air out the house but kinda doubt it. What are your thoughts?
