Motivational Power Quote

Speak With a Purpose

"The wise speak only

of what the know."

Gandalf, Lord of the Rings

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Speak with a purpose.

Speak when there is something constructive to say, if it's constructive remain silent and listen.

Practice active listening to better understand the person that you're speaking with to become more effective communicator.

In effective communications we should know the subject that we are speaking about. Speaking without knowledge of the subject is a pathway to a disaster and will make the person look unprofessional.

A wise person will not speak about a subject without the knowledge of the topic. Where they lack information on the topic they will do the research of the subject to gain the knowledge before they speak.

A wise person will speak with purpose on what they know and be seen as an expert.

Nothing goods comes by trying to sound like you are the expert on something you are not.  I observed an inexperienced agent doing this last week, and it was easy to see through her high-faluting talk.  I was embarassed for her.  The thing is, I don't think she realized how silly she seemed, she has quite an ego going on......

Lou, some folks have the gift of gab.  When they don't know what they're talking about, they just keep on talking anyway!  LOL!  I like your idea, remain silent and listen.

Lou,

When we try to be who we are not it soon becomes evident and then we lose all creibility. :)
