Because the message is so appropriate and so heartfelt, and because there are so many new members, I want to share this with you again this year.
Although George isn't here to share in our Thanksgiving Day customs, I will be spending the day with some dear friends who have the same values. And, yes, I am very grateful for having such good friends and for the wonderful Thanksgiving dinners George and I shared together.
So, in George's honor I left the message from a couple of years ago just as he wrote it ...

Thanksgiving is a day of reflection in our home.
Before digging into the turkey and all the trimmings, everyone around the table must take a turn and tell us what they are grateful for. It doesn't have to be big things - sometimes it's the "little" things that count even more.
If you think you don't have anything to be grateful for, you need to reconsider. Several months ago I happened to come across a quote ... one that is appropriate for the Thanksgiving holiday.
In today's world, we tend to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our increasingly busy lives. And we forget there is so much we should be grateful for. There are people much less fortunate than we are.
