A common theme for me is leadership and my belief that we are ALL leaders.
There's no escaping . . . Whoever you are and whatever your station in life is, you ARE a born leader.
The sooner you quit struggling against it and avoiding the taking of responsibility (owning) of your God given position in this world as a Leader, the more successful you'll be . . . and the fun part of this is that once you DECLARE yourself as a Leader results happen suddenly and exponentially.
How many great Leaders have you witnessed rising to the top SUDDENLY - Invisible yesterday and omnipresent today?
How do they do that?
The real secret is that we were all born with Leadership potential, yet most of us lead lives of quiet desperation as we meander along squandering our true potential . . . shunning responsibility.
So . . . My message is this:
2010 can be THE year you claim your validity as a Leader.
This will not be easy because if you're anything like most folks, you'll be able to think of a bajillion reasons NOT to do it . . . and as you move along this new-found path with intentional purpose you will encounter myriad naysayers who will barrage you with limiting beliefs.
Don't succomb to that idiocy because you ARE a born Leader.
Be a nonconformist and pledge today to OWN your personal Leadership.
This path is free but not easy . . . It's an hero's journey.
The good news is that you won't have to go it alone because there are many great Leaders who have preceded you . . . and success leaves clues.

Your first step has gotta involve picking an azimuth . . .
What direction would you like to travel?
Where are you going?
What is it going to look like when you get there?
Who will you be with along the way and who might you be with "at the top"?
I don't know any of the answers to these question, but I know YOU do.
One caveat:
Should you choose to accept this mission, be very careful about who you tell about your intentions and aspirations of greatness . . . In fact, I recommend that you tell NO ONE because they're all gonna think you're delusional and crazy to have such lofty goals.
This is the dirty little secret of many great leaders . . . They don't blab about their aspirations to other people, they just declare their Leadership and hunker down and TAKE ACTION.
Now for that pinch of simplicity . . . Seth Godin wrote a great relevant blog post today entitled "It's no Wonder They Don't trust Us" where he says
" . . ."or you can be so clean and so straightforward that people are stunned into loyalty."
Clean and straightforward are some remarkable Leadership qualities, aren't they?
Shhhhhhh . . .
Don't tell anyone what you're up to . . .
Just get out there and LEAD . . .
and you'll do AMAZING things in 2010!
