I am soo excited about this Active Rain!!!

I have always assumed that it would take years and years of blogging and a beautiful website, etc. I have been semi-active with Active Rain now for three years, and put up a post on my blog occasionally.

I just looked at what would happen if I googled "Wilton CT real estate," and found that Active Rain was near the top of the first page, and I am featured, so it immediately puts me out there! The only competition on the first page was big brokerage houses, which is to be expected. Perhaps I will surpass them also one day. Hmmmm ... wouldn't that be interesting?

This just gave me an enormous amount of inspiration to continue and expand what I am doing! The next thing that I would like to expand into is placing pictures and articles about Wilton on the internet. It is such a fabulous area to live in, and extremely picturesque with all of this snow we have at the moment. Wish me luck! Gosh, I love what I do! Working with people and finding them homes and situations that fit them and make them happy is the best!

I am "singing in the rain!"

Do you think there are better approaches to take at this time? Please give me your input on what you think.....

How in the world do folks reply to all of these incredible responses? There has been such great cheerleading, phenomenal advice, great ideas .... I love it all, and wish sooo much that I could have the time or speed to respond to all. There is no way I can. But, please remember that I have read each and every comment, written down the advice in special spots, and am just so happy with all of your support. If ever there was a doubter - doubt no more!!!

I wanted to respond to your request and share some specific strategies that you could use right now to get your blog on page one and get some traffic. I did send you a private message but in case you did not get that, i thought i share one specific strategy right now

Lets assume for a second that you want to get your active rain page where you are the featured realtor on page 1 of google and get more traffic.

So i went and look at the top blog for the keyword "wilton ct real estate".

The number one site that appears is www.hastingsrealestate.com on the first page of google.

Then i went to a site called yahoo site explorer and typed in the name hastingsrealesate.com. Yahoo site explorer (which is not 100% correct but tells us why a page is ranking high on google). It shares some dirty little secrets about your competition with us.

yahoo tells me that there is 125 links pointing to the site hastingsrealestate.com. here are the results

Now for you to rank on the first page of google and take the number one spot or even get to top three spots, your goal is to build more than 125 links to your web page url that appears on page two of google where you are the featured realtor.

So if i were in your position and need to get to top spot and all the traffic i would hire someone, take all the sites that the top blog has created links on pointing back to their web pages(directly from yahoo site explorer) and then put links on those same sites and point them back to your active rain page.

And just build a few more links and wait a short while. and you will find yourself on page one dominating this.

Now here is the most important part, all the links that you build pointing to your active rain url must have the keywords wilton ct real estate in them. So you will have more than 150 keywords links pointing back to your url

I currently have taught this approach to some realtors and they are doing well with it.

Use it and you will see the results and it will surprise you. This is a more scientific way of analyzing competion, outperfroming them and taking over the traffic.

Now just think about this approach. You can apply it to any web page and keyword you want.

You could easily outsource the link building to someone else for $50 to a $100 dollars or you could do it own your own.

This approach may sound confusing but i assure you is really simple and extremely powerful

Everyone makes web marketing so complicated but that is all there is to it.
