Peninsula Living: Who Can Name This Monument?

Name This Monument

Can you name this monument and give its location? (Hint: location is somewhere on the mid-Peninsula, between San Francisco and San Jose, CA)

Contact me by 1/18/2010 and you'll be entered into a drawing for movie tickets.

Hi Lottie ~ Goodness I swear I've seen it on a vintage postcard but I have a head like a sieve. Guess you'll need a West Coaster to come through with the answer.

Hi Liz, I've started a mystery photo contest in my snail mail newsletters; have received 10 replies as of yesterday. Thought I'd put it on my AR blog in case anyone local is reading it! I'll post the answer tomorrow.

Lottie - It reminds me of Greece and some of the various structures I saw there several years ago but you are saying this is somewhere in the peninsula so I am out having never been to California yet

Okay, I saw this yesterday and didn't know . . . I'm afraid I'm not much smarter today! It looks like the same era as the Palace of Fine Arts . . . but I couldn't tell ya!

Kathy, it surely is a Greek style of architecture. You should plan a trip to San Francisco sometime soon--I'd love to play tour guide for a day!

Deena, you're close in comparing this to the Palace of Fine Arts; same era, but roughly 20 miles to the south.

Find out all about it in this morning's blog, Peninsula Living: The Answer: Pulgas Water Temple

Thanks for stopping in!
