Sequoia National Park #1

Pictures from my visit to Sequoia National Park in September of 2007.  My vacation that year was to National parks in California, as well as Crater Lake National Park in Oregon.

I took this picture with the car in it so you could see how big the trees were.

The trees can make any person look little in comparison.

It looks like they used to let people drive under this rock, but have put rocks in the way now to block entry.  I thought it was so unique that I asked my husband to stop so I could take a picture of it.  It was very impressive in person.

Seq. Nat. Park #4

It doesn't look like this rock should be able to stay there on its own, but it did.

The park is located on the western slope of California's Sierra Nevada mountain range, and is the second oldest US National Park.  It is also home to the largest living thing on the planet - the General Sherman Tree.

For more information and alot of great pictures visit Sequoia National Park.  This is a beautiful park and a great vacation get-away.  Hope you can visit someday.  Here is the facebook page for Sequoia National Park.

Thank you for sharing your photos.  I grew up in Los Angeles, and in 1969 I accompanied my best friend's family for a summer vacation in Sequoia.  I have never forgotten the grandeur of that beautiful place.  I've been to Paris, Rome and London, but nothing beats Nature for pure beauty!

So you came to California and didn't even give me a call. Well! I know where I stand with you. And you went to Sequoia with your husband? What's with that? LOL

Did you get some good pictures of Crater Lake. We went in the summer but there was still lots of snow on the ground up at Crater Lake. It was very beauiful.
