While Attending Church Saturday evening, I listened to this message about listening to the Wise and how we should all have successful advisors in our personal and professional lives...It was based out of the book of Proverbs. Here are some key points I noted....Wanted to share with you....
- Successful people do an all out blitz seeking wisdom
- Successful people are selective in picking their advisers
- Successful people know what they know and know what they don't know
- Successful people avoid traps of having over confidence which can lead to prevention from which others seek counsel
Successful people actively seek advisers to assist them with what they don't know...and how to do what they do know better
The best kind of advisers are ones who..
- Combine good character with good counsel
- Have an expertise in what we don't have
- Good role models for us and where we want to be someday
- Offer a Biblical & God Honoring perspective
- Eternally successful people select God as there primary source of counsel
Proverbs 13:20 He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
