Client Parties of Appreciation

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Fran Rokicki Realty, LLC

One of Buffini's ideas, this is one of my favorites!  You can choose the theme, use a holiday or similar event title, or even hold an end of summer picnic.  Families attend, bring their friends, neighbors and with little effort you have hosted a fun event.  I say, little effort, meaning that they become contagious.  Folks start to look forward to your next event before they even leave the one they are presently attending.  You can elaborate and hold contests or competitions, maybe a friendly ballgame.  I find that the more of these that I host, the more my clients become involved.  They are creative and love to help!  I am truly fortunate to have the clients that I do, I am proud to say.  They motivate me, keep me going and going. It is also, a good way for your clients to meet eachother.  Relocation folks will be pleased to make new friends in their new area.

There is a good website; Evite.com.  They provide a template, which enables you to invite your clients via email to your event.  The templates vary in design and are controlled by you, as far as who sees what and when.  For the clients who do not have access to email, I send written invites.  Certainly, don't want to leave anyone out.

Try the Client Appreciation Party!  It will amaze you!

It's a Good Life!

I am getting ready to host a House Warming Bar-B-Q the weekend after Labor Day for a young couple that bought a home from me about 6 weeks ago.  They thought it was a great idea and I now have access to all of their friends names, addresses, email accounts and phone numbers.  Now there is a valuable list.

Thanks for sharing.

Now Have a Blessed Day,

Fran -

Great idea.  We do at least 2 events a year.  One for 4th of July and one for the December Holidays.  This year we were a little busy in Dec. and my nephew had his 1st birthday party out of town on July 5, so we didn't do either.  Instead we are having a pig roast & Lousiana shrimp boil at our house in a few weeks.

We also used to do a football tailgate and clients looked forward to that.  Trying to figure out what to do this year.  Long story.  For the non-football folks, we have hockey tickets.

We have found that just holding the event and sending invitations gets a lot of mileage even from people who do not attend.

Good Post!

Sounds excellent, and John, you can claim the expenses of that party on your IRS taxes;)

Be sure to cultivate that list of guest contacts and enjoy the time with your clients.

Rich,

So true, people just like to know they are thought of, be it a note, popby or call.  It takes a few minutes of your time and time is the best gift that you can offer.  Good post, thank you!

Hey Frances,

Nice post, and I loved Rich's idea of the pig roast.

In Dec. we did our nicest event yet, for 80 of our top clients. I rented a facility on the water in Newport Beach for the annual holiday boat parade. It was a little pricey, almost like a small wedding, but it was also our 30th business anniversary, so I sort of broke the budget.

So far the most cost effective was a museum tour to the Getty Museum in L.A. for 43 people. I've done a few other things primarily with smaller groups. This year we're having a 2-day tamale making event at my house. Last year it was a family event, this year it will included a few clients too. I "apprenticed" two years in a row in the art of tamale making at the home of a close friend. It was great.

Like anything else, we send out a "save the date" card first. We also follow up with what to expect. If it's an event off somewhere, we usually furnish a small goodie bag too.

I'm really interested in what others are doing, thanks for the post. Like you, I'm never to busy for anyone you know who could use my real estate services. (I'm a BRO person myself).

One of the easiest and most cost effective events we have hosted is private movie showing.  We recently hosted a showing the latest Harry Potter movie at a local theater.  Over 100 past clients showed up.  It cost 5.75 per person.

We were able to speak to the whole group before the showing as well as greeting them upon arrival and exit.  Also, we had signs posted in the parking lot and theater lobby giving directions.  The signs of course had our name on them (additional publicity)

Good Posts!  Thank you!

I have hosted parties at ballgames held at minor league fields.  They provide choice of seating, snacks, shirts (with your Company Name on them) for your guests, and announce your event on the screen during the half time.  The cost was less than $500.00, and folks look forward to it every time!

Dan, will you be going to Orlando in September for the Joe Niego Event? I am registered for that one.  Lots of my friends and family have moved down to your sunshine state!  Love Bradenton!  Been to your beaches, have seen the black dolphins.  Just beautiful!

Our company actually does an annual Halloween party for all of the clients we have closed with in the past year.  It's quite an event.  They give away lots of things, and the top costume gets a car lease for one year.  It's been a huge hit with everyone!
