Sunny skies, a light breeze, temps in the low 70's...summer in Maine.
"The feathered snake has reached the bottom step."
This was what I heard coming from our tiny alcove that is my husband's studio. Oh, how Mayan.
But such is the odd sense of humor from my husband. :)
Translation: The sun is now past the bottom of the front stoop and he can go take his place on the steps for some relaxation away from his drawing without risking a sunburn.
I learned from Stewart Penn that today is National Relaxation Day. Good thing too, relaxation was the only thing on our schedule today. Such are the events of a lazy sunny Sunday here in Maine. First there are the obligatory afternoon shadow puppet plays on the front steps, then the digging activities of the children with their Japanese beetle obstacle course...and who knows what will be next.
Yes, we are easily amused!
Thanks to Stewart we now know that we are simply doing our part to celebrate this important national holiday. All of our cleaning and chores were finished yesterday, and today is just ours to enjoy life as we know it here in Maine.
How is your National Relaxation Day going?
If you would like to find your little slice of Maine to relax in, please feel free to call me or visit living and working in Auburn Maine.
