That is a senior citizen in the tree world. Very cool photo--makes me want to go on a hike.
You can see the wet years and the dry years. Trees plot out a true history!
Jim, having had to cut wood for heating for so many years I was always amazed at the juxtaposition of how long it took the tree to grow and how short a time it took to cut it down.
Started counting the rings and gave up when they got way to close together. At one point, a slice of that would have made a great coffee table, but to far along now. Great picture.
Hi Jim, that is a very cool photo you took there! I hate to see trees go down, but they often make great other "stuff" including photos!
