WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT A VA?

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with REVStaffing

Welcome to the fifth blog in our series about Virtual Assistants.  This topic will discuss what you should know about a Virtual Assistant.

• How much experience in your field is represented?

• Are they Licensed? If in your market area, is your business confidential?

• Are they experienced in the specific area or with the tools you use?

• Do you have to ‘manage' them or can they ‘run' with a project?

• Do they understand the business well enough to advise you?

• Is there accountability? Is it easy for you to check progress?

• What hours are they available to be reached?

• Is it possible to have after hours or weekend coverage?

• Are there resources to cover work, if the VA is sick or on vacation?

• If you use a one or two person VA service, what happens if they get overloaded with business and can't handle your work?

Join us next week for the next topic in the series. You can bookmark this page to return for updates.  If you need assistance in the meantime, please contact us by email at info@revstaffing.com or phone at 404-819-2933.

Hi, Deborah! Thanks for the tips. I give room for inexprerienced VA, because thru it, I believe their loyalty can and will be tested. And thru this as well, you'll be able to see if the VA is teachable. Will be looking forward to more of  your tips!

James,

Thank you for your comment. I understand giving inexperienced assistants an opportunity.  However, in providing a service to others as my team does, we can't do on the job training at the possible expense of our clients.  When I first started the business, I did train but, at that time, I was physically located in the same office space and could help them through any questions. Now, my team are all in different states and they must already know real estate to give professional assistance to our clients.  For many agents that would like to give a VA a 'hand up' in learning real estate tools, well, the agent doesn't have the time and it defeats the purpose of hiring someone to support you if you have to train them.  For REVStaffing, we ADD to their knowledge with the new tools that appear weekly.  We offer webbased training that can be viewed at any time, allowing the VA to invest in themselves taking the initiative to expand their skills.  REVS invests in the team member by providing the training resources free to our team.
