Christmas Parade in Golden, Colorado

Golden welcomes you: Mike in Tucson, mortgage lender

If you don't live in Golden, Colorado, doesn't this sign on Washington Street make you feel welcome?!  I'm up in Colorado to visit grandkids, and today I went with them and their Daddy to the Christmas parade in Golden.  We didn't know that the parade was scheduled today; serendipity is a wonderful thing!

Behind me, Table Rock seemed to preside over the proceedings.

Santa on a motorcycle with a sidecar in Golden, CO: Mike in Tucson, mortgage lender

Santa was riding on a motorcycle, and his sidecar was filled with treats and goodies for the children along the route.

Carolers singing Christmas carols today in Golden, CO: Mike in Tucson, mortgage lender

Carolers dressed in 19th century garb strolled the avenue, singing Christmas carols like Silent Night, It Came Upon A Midnight Clear, and Jolly Old King Wencelas.  They were more than happy to stop for photos.  :)

It wouldn't be Colorado without horses.  This young horseman in the left of the photo is in perfect control as he makes his way down the street to the claps and cheers of the crowd.  This is one time that I wished I had my videocamera with me.  There was so much to see!

If you're a REALTOR in Golden, CO, you should know that I wouldn't mind living here!

I spent my formative years in Golden, from 1959 to 1965, kindergarten through 5th grade.  We didn't have such fancy gatherings back then.   Many of the roads were still gravel, and we usually had a hay ride at some time around Christmas.  It was a much smaller town, and mostly rural.  It was a wonderful place for a kid to grow up and play in nature.  There were no malls, no freeways and no traffic congestion.  The biggest event of the year was the rodeo in the summer at the fairgrounds.

Wow, thought provoking, I have spent alot of time creating my brand for me and for my team and it is a continued work in progress, but had not even thought about aligning with my town's brand....although come to think of it in so many ways I am already....likely why I live here and likely why I have done well here.
