A long, long time ago, back in 2006 during the Golden Age of Real Estate, Frank and Sharon won a trip to Greece with their company. They ventured to Athens, home of the Golden Age of Greece. Everyone in real estate was happy back then, it was a time of wine and roses and nobody could imagine the long, long hangover that was just around the corner. So here Frank and Sharon stood beside the Palace Guard who had tears rolling down his cheek. Did he know what was in store for us hapless tourists, Realtors all, frolicking in his hometown? Did he know our housing market was about to come tumbling down? We'll never know. He wouldn't move. The tears just trickled down. True story.
Yes, a long, long hangover and Advil is not helping!
However, I saw the end of the Golden Age of Real Estate in September 2005! I am just ahead of the time or what!
Sharon
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Our of the ashes of the Golden Age of Real Estate we will have a new beginning.
Good luck and success.

Maybe the tears were trickiling down because he was not blinking. Perhaps he had to remain perfectly still and not move a muscle not even an eyelash.
I won two trips to Hawaii back in the glory days real estate. No prizes like that floting around now. However with God's help I am still blessed with a good business.
Wonderful photo - great analogy - never thought of our current market conditions as a long and very bad hangover.
Liz, our sales topped in 2005 but prices topped in 2006 and it was still a glorious year. You were a year ahead of us out west.
Lou, we are seeing the beginnings of it this year with the luxury market coming back and sales up.
Bob, could be! But none of the other guards were crying. It was really strange.
Alan, we are as well. But we work much harder for each deal than we did back then.
Preferred, it's what can happen after a really great party. The Golden Years were a really great party in our industry!
Frank & Sharon - hope that you made it to Santorini, perhaps that was why the guard had tears, thinking of his girlfriend there without him. Hope this hangover goes away soon.
Frank and Sharon, my guess is that those fancy shoes were pinching the guy's toes! Or maybe he knew what was in store for Greece in a few short years.
Frank and Sharon,
Great that you won the trip and were able to enjoy it. Gold has gotten so expensive - it's headed for a crash also. :)
