My Christmas Wish(es)...

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Auto & Home & Life Insurance throughout North Carolina

... to write again with the same passion, piss, & vinegar that I once did (or at least thought I did).

... to find a bit of peace and maintain it.

... to leave this world a better place than when I entered it.

... to be more patient with that I find a waste of time.

... to leave them smiling more than crying.

... to quit smoking for me and nobody else.  Then, not to gain the inevitable weight in fat pounds but to find another vice ... like reading while doing push-ups.

... to become famous in death without having to jump off a tall building and wave my middle finger at the latest Reality Show Sensation.

... to make my folks proud.

... to warm Jennifer's heart so much that she actually starts to love the state of Pennsylvania.  Then, maybe we'll move to North Carolina, Oregon, or even Italy if Palin runs for President in 2012.  Actually, I'd like to move to Italy even if a Democrat runs again.  Maybe especially if a Democrat runs again ;)

... to try and take the polarizing stuff that seems to separate us with a grain of salt, knowing that wisdom isn't in the pages or words of those whose paychecks depend on it.

... to turn off FOX & MSNBC while I'm on the subject.

... to pay off some old debts.

... to give more than I receive.  Life is like physical combat in that way.  Kind of ironic ...

... is to thank Active Rain (yes, it's a bit mushy now) for introducing me to the love of my life and so many damn good people along the way, some of whom I've never actually met.  That's what makes them damn good;)  So pour yourself a Chocolate Martini & inherently know that whether I show it or not ... I actually do care about folks ... the whole lot of ya ... whether it matters or not.  And I'll always come here first for Real Estate ... and the Otherwise.  Especially, the Otherwise.

Hi Jason!  You were the recipient of my first blog comment on my new iPad and it didn't appear to post but, when I went back to look, I had posted two!  (Slow learner!)  After 6 hours of setting the thing up and downloading apps, I thought I'd circle back to AR and found this wonderful post!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, and what a wonderful list of wishes. As to making PA warm, I spent a snowstorm there several Christmases back without power.  It was cold for this So. Cal. girl.

P.S. I'm jealous of Debe's new iPad.

Sardi - hope you had a wonderful "warm" Christmas with Jennifer - but I tell you your list is inspiring - especially since your guy Obama is doing such a great job that you are scared America would vote for someone who actually HAS experience - don't worry Obama is making us just another socialist country like France and Italy - so you don't have to move - we need a leader who actually does love America and feels this is an exceptional country - so Palin is not so bad after all - folks said the same thing abut Reagan and they picked Carter instead - my how history repeats itself - everyone loves socialism until they see the taxes that have to pay for it - see the rant you caused Happy New Year to you both -

Jason,

Creative people are not creative 24/7. I can tell you from experience you will always have that passion.  It only comes out for a time and you will only want to write. Then other times, you need to live to get you back in that mood again.

Good luck with the smoking. I am trying to quit also and hmmm,. Italy sound pretty good. I'm Italian. Maybe we will see you and Jennifer there! As much as I try to keep out of politics, if Sarah Palin becomes President......well lets just say I think I can see Italy from my house in RI!!!  Happy Holidays

That's quite a heartfelt list - best of luck with it.  I enjoyed the post and the comments--and I laughed out loud at Karen's (#43) seeing Italy from her house in RI!

Ah Sardi, you are the best of the best.  You write with heart, which keeps us coming back time and again.  I hope Santa and 2011 grant you your wishes, but don't change a thing...except the smoking thing :)

I help brokers build businesses they love.

There's the writing which comes from youthful enthusiasm and the writing that comes after you've been hurt and disillusioned. Good writers evolve through it all, so keep going and someday you'll have a body of work you can call the "early years".

Please write something back to Nicholas #42. I simply don't have the energy tonight.

Nicholas #42 just likes to engage in a little smack talk for the fun of it, Leslie :) I know and you know that when Obama has him over for dinner, he'll be as smitten and starry-eyed as the rest of us!

I resolved a long time ago not to get caught up in all the bs on the box or in the papers. Life's to short to get worked up over such stupid s**t.

Jennifer #51 - speaking of being smitten - I am not an Obama fan.  But several months ago he came to Chicago (sans wife) to celebrate his birthday and had dinner at a restaurant that my husband and I are investors in (I wrote a post about it and posted his photo.)

I didn't drive into the city to see him . . . because I didn't think he would show.  My husband and son went and when they walked in and saw Oprah they knew that Obama was coming.

As I said, I'm not an Obama fan, but I was so furious at myself for not going and shaking his hand.  A President is a President, after all.

Hey Margaret # 53... :) Ya know, you're right. I didn't care for #43 either, but I would've been delighted to dine with him despite my political leanings.

Jason, the passion for the writing is in you... you just need to pull it back out.  As scary as it sounds (to the rest of us), unleash yourself...  ;^ )

Good luck on the list.

Happy New Year Jason and Jennifer. I love your list you softie but I am REALLY smiling at you watching the first season of Little House on the Prairie. We got something in common. We are tough on the outside and tender on the inside. May you and Jennifer have MANY happy years together.

Lovely list.  I especially like the idea of y'all moving to Oregon.  I think of Italy often.  And more Edward Sharpe.  Hadn't realized the other was an encore, since I am reading backwards.  Still like it.  And as yet no clues to the mystery I had hoped to unravel. -- so I'm quitting, at least for now. Maybe for good.  I'll have to see if the future provides an explanation.  After all - -I do have a life! ;-)
