Neither Snow or Sleet Can Stop The Snow Plowers

Back in October I joined a group of Cyclists called the "Snow Plowers".  It was a group sponsored by Gregg from Deerfield Cyclery. For the 1st 6 or 7 weeks we were able to bike ride from Old School Forest preserve up to Independence Grove a distance of about 13 miles.  It was great fun.

Then the snow came and bike riding on the trails became impossible.  This winter had so much cold and ice that I couldn't even take my horse " Kitty" out on the trails for fear of hitting an icy patch and breaking one of her legs.

Sunday, the Snow Plowers decided to hike instead of bike.  What fun.  We hiked around the Lake at the Old School Forest Preserve off of St Mary's road.  We hiked for 4 miles through the snow and were hot and steamy when we got back to enjoy our hot chocholate.

Being able to get out and enjoy the out of doors even in the cold of winter makes living in Riverwoods a treat.

Check out our website to see some of the great houses that are for sale.

Your group sounds like a great way to have some good clean fun and get some exercise.  Don't ride on the ice though, it is really not fun when you fall!
